I have to say I like our chances tonight against Detroit. We always seem to play them well.

Great present getting Hamonic and Boychuk back. I would not let them play there full minutes though just as a precaution.

I am more worried about who is net. Johnson tonight and Halak tomorrow. If Johnson we need at least 4 goals to even get a point.

Anyway it is almost the New Year and the Islanders are still on top. Dream come true

last I hear capuano hadn't committed to using both goalies this weekend. with back to back games you would assume that would happen, but as bad as johnson has been playing lately I don't know I give him a start before christmas.

Maybe start him against buffalo and see if he can keep the gaa under 4.

I always thought he got a raw deal on here last year. He had next-to-nothing in terms of defensive help whenever he's played here. If he can't succeed behind the current defense then OK fine, I'll admit defeat. But I thought he always played fairly well despite having a bad news bears defense in front of him "helping" out.

Exactly! It's not a risky move. Cannot have Halak playing all these games because you do not trust Johnson. With Cappy, Poulin will be called up and then sit a month before playing.
