Could that mean a signing? (I hope) - David_Volek
I assumed it meant he was coming off IR.
God damn you, now you have me hoping for that even though I'm nearly positive that's not what the tweet was about. |

He clarified it was because his other brother was coming to NYC for Christmas. |

Sorry! I'll make it more this site... guy from up north looking to go to eastern city. I'm hearing PHI, BOS, NY, and WSH all possibilities. Potential BIG name. More to come... |

Just poking fun. Boychuks bro coming to the city was the tweet. I made it very vague like someone tends to do with this site |

Thing is.. everyone always says it will take this kings random for star players.. but it never does... 99 traded for crap, Thorton traded for crap, Roy traded for crap, Best trade I can think of that the trading team made out was the Nords when they traded Lindros.
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
Right....and Lindros was supposed to be the next Gretzky....as I said, Taylor Hall is not Crosby, and I wouldn't trade all of that for Sid, either. Hopefully, Snow is smarter than that.... |

I lived in Philly in the 90's. I hate the Flyers but watching Lindros play was just incredible. He was the best hockey player I have ever seen... period. This includes Gretzky, Lemiux, etc. If he did not get hurt ....... |

Hall is a very special player and if you can get him without giving up your own very special player (Strome, Brock, JT, etc.). You make the trade... If it costs a few prospects you make the trade. Hall is a MUCH better player than we are giving him credit. You think Dallas regrets the Seguin trade? I would definitely try VERY hard to get Hall if I am Snow. |

Well we wouldn't get him without trading one of Strome or Nelson, that's pretty much a given. |

Adam French was talking about the kind of return they would start with in terms of a comparison -
Nash cost the Rangers - Dubinsky (2nd line two-way centre), Anisimov (3rd line two-way centre), Tim Erixon (top prospect) and a 2013 first (Kerby Rychel)
I don't want to be moving pieces like that right now with the way this team is set up.
Comparing that would be Strome, a top defenseman prospect (Reinhart or Pulock), Dal Colle and another piece. |

and that to me would be a horrible misstep on Snow's part. |

I agree. I see no need for a huge move at this point. Try Strome with JT instead if the Isles have concerns with the top line. |

If one of them would have to go I'd be out at the price also. I'm not even convinced that Dreger's report about Hall was 100% accurate. |

The KHL is in absolute meltdown mode right now.
Can't get on twitter via the computer at work but if you check out @SlavaMalamud he's a Russian living in NA that covers hockey and is tweeting all the details. Players of one team not having been paid since October, except for meal money. The junior league, the MHL, may severely contract or completely be wiped out next year. Things are a disaster.
Why, do you ask, is this relevant?
We should reach out to Kovalchuk

Presumably, Kovy's rights are owned by the Devils, no? |

He "retired" from the NHL so his rights aren't retained by any team. The Devils are currently paying a $250k recapture penalty every season until 2025 because this happened.
He's a UFA.
I'm only like half serious about this, but seriously...what the hell damage could it do to call him up and see if he's interested in playing LW for Tavares. |
