I agree.

I also agree. I really hope they send Darling back to Rockford to get playing time. He needs to work on a couple of things, and the only way he improves is with playing time. They can always bring him back up if Crawford goes down again.

And as a team i think they're like 51.6%(?)

The big difference to me is Richards somewhat solidifies the 2C job (a better fit than Zus or Kruger), everyone else settles into their roles better. Perreault has clearly helped guys like Kruger and Shaw.

And I'll take 47.7% from Richards.

- John Jaeckel

Toews and Shaw have a competition against each after most practices. Shaw and Kruger also work together.

Good points and personally if I was Raanta I would ask some serious questions about my future with this team. If I am going to be jockied around like this I would suggest look at trading me to say the Oilers or a team in need. If not he will have to hang in there and say goodbye when he becomes a free agent one day.
I love it when Raanta is in goal and I would trade Crawford and hand it over.

- flyerdude17

dude??...dude?? Raanta over Craw? Raanta on that oiler team would get rolled just like the current oiler goalies. They are BAD!

Erixon will surprise you, he has great offensive upside, can skate and is not brain dumb like Rundblad. No comparison should be made at all except they are swedes.
- flyerdude17

and they are buddies...

listen kudos to Stanbow....most of us thought a pick or 2 would be it for Morin. Instead he got serviceable dman...if he can play 16 min per here as he was in bluejacket land...that is a huge plus.

My take a very good deal for both clubs!

If Erixon can be a solid 3rd pairing defenseman then he'll provide more value than Morin could. I hope Morin succeeds in Columbus, he has talent but he wasn't getting a shot here.

And really it has been all of a sudden. Last few years goalie depth has been an issue.

He has Raanta in a keeper fantasy league. He's just messing around.

Erixson and Dahlbeck look like they may be solid Dmen in the Hawks' system. I'd still feel better with a veteran come playoff time, but now the Hawks don't have to make a desperation move and the deadline. As for trading a goalie, I'd just as soon keep them both for a while and let them develop, let their value increase (hopefully). No rush.

If Raanta and Darling both continue to impress, look for Crawford to be moved this summer. (O5)

Off topic, but based on the news coming out of the courtroom today, the judge in Slava Voynov's domestic abuse case ruled there was enough evidence for him to stand trial on felony charges. Based on what was presented today, this dude may have played his last NHL game.

It's one way to help handle the cap problem for next season.

However, both Raanta and Darling will not be waiver exempt starting next season, if I'm not mistaken. Beyond those two and Crawford the system is completely bare when it comes to goaltender. Can the team be competitive without Crawford and roll with Raanta and Darling?

At any rate, it's definitely safe to say that one of the three will be wearing another team's sweater starting next season, if not sooner.

Raanta, to my eyes, appears the more polished of the two goalies. Both have been very good -- and battlers, but Darling could probably benefit a little more from additional games in the "A" than sitting on the Hawks bench. Given the dearth of goalie talent the Hawks have had in the system over the past several years, this has been nice.

Crawford , Bickell , TT to the Oilers for their 1st. That what my source is telling me.

I take the guy who is 6'6. Its the way NHL is moving these days,

I think both would benefit from more playing time. Raanta ,more so in my opinion.
Darling has played his whole life on NA rinks. Raanta still has those moments where the play is happening quicker than he expects at times.

But the numbers don't really bear that out... That being said, I do agree both need more playing time if the FO is to have enough input to make the right choice. Personally I really like all three of our goalies and like Q says, "We like tough decisions".
