bump from previous blob:

they're .800 when scoring first. pretty good chance they'll win.
- hammarby31

How is 7-1-2 .800?
-bodiva

i dunno'...didn't do the math. just reported the graphic from csn during the game.

- hammarby31

It's 16 points out of a possible 20. 16/20 = 0.800.

Highlights of the SO win for the Phantoms last night. Straka, Leier and Cousins scored really nice goals.

At least our AHL goalies will be used to the grind of playing for a 40/60 position team when they come up

Those jerseys are awful

Actually got to watch that live, so that was good. They did have some real nice moves on the shootout. But that OT was seriously sloppy positional hockey. The 3 v 3 was interesting.

I love the 3v3. I hope the NHL adopts it next season

I don't know about that. If it wasn't for Pronger the Flyers would have a good chunck of extra space. Hextall is also going to be looking at losing Umberger and Vinny.
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

That is incorrect. The salary cap for this season is 69M. The Flyers projected cap spending for this season is $75,063,516. Take away Pronger's cap hit of $4,941,429, that leaves the Flyers still over the upper limit. Where does the good chunk of extra change come from? And if they're lucky to move Umberger and Lecavalier, it's likely due to a buyout or taking salary back, or retaining salary in a trade.

They made some progress no doubt with the California swing and beating the 2 Metro weak sisters.

It is great to see #14 and #24 play they way we know they are capable of.

The major problem that has not been fixed is they still get trapped in their own zone way too much and way too long. It leads to turnovers and good goal scoring chances against. If they do eventually clear the forwards are gassed and dump and change without a forecheck and the cycle is repeated.

It's the same thing in the PK.
Failed clears leading to goals against.

Until this gets fixed they are going to continue to struggle.
Especially against teams that use speed to get in on them on the forecheck.

Having 3 lines scoring will definitely help, but it won't overcome the failure to clear the D zone problem completely.

I've never thought much of him. I think Morin has more upside than Erixon. I would have taken a 2nd rounder if that was available.

I'm assuming this was the best deal out there. Hard to negotiate when everyone knows a player wants to be moved.

- PhillySportsGuy

Both guys are talented young players that have yet to put it together at the NHL level. It's more a potential for potential deal, and the Jackets need a forward desperately.
