I went to the game with a friend. Driving to the game I told him Bailey was useless and he disagreed. So every time Bailey was on the ice I pointed out when he touched the puck, and if it was in the Islanders favor. By the end of the game he agreed with me. There were times when he was literally just standing there away from the play.

Here is a stat that Jack Capuano is apparently unaware of:
The Isles record w/ Strait: 11-8-0
The Isles record w/o Strait: 9-2-0

Obviously, some of that is due to the absences of deHaan, Visnovsky, Boychuk and/ Hamonic, but a fair amount is due to the presence of Strait.

I have to say Donovan has not been very noticeable when he's been in the lineup over the past 10 games (and I sincerely mean that as a compliment).

Reinhart, in his 2nd go-round has been noticeably good.

Throw in Pulock with 9 goals in 22 ahl games, and it is hard to fathom how or why Strait sees NHL ice again for this franchise.

Well written. Hopefully strait is waived next. I'd like to see more of reinhart, he looked much better tonight.

The more noticeable Reinhart and Donovan are in a good way, the more it becomes apparent that Strait is the odd man out. I'm at the point now where I'm convinced that neither of those youngsters can possibly be worse than he is, so it's time for waivers once the other defensemen return to the lineup. If someone grabs him, so what? Experience is no substitute for talent....one day, maybe Capuano will figure that out.

It's not that he's not physical. There are plenty of players that don't lay hits that can still be effective. Frans doesn't throw many hits and I've never heard anyone complaining about his play.

I honestly don't know what the deal is with Bailey. Every once in a blue moon we see a good play maker. For the other 74 games we don't see him at all.

I hope someone does take strait on waivers so he's never an option again.

The crowd literally cheered when he was announced as a scratch! How bad do you have to play for that to happen?

Yeah, pundits are always good for acting like the fans are idiots, but we can see as well as anyone else.

Grabbo's give away results in Hawks second goal
- nyisles7

He got the puck taken away down by the offensive circle it's not like it was a give away at center ice or in their own end. Kane still had to go past 3 islanders who just let him walk in

Strome went for a line change with Kane coming up behind him, lubo wasn't in the best position but did well to force him to a side, that was a hell of a shot by Kane.

Exactly. It ain't personal. Brian Strait is a pro hockey player making a tremendous living whether it's in Uniondale or Bridgeport. And he will be playing somewhere -Ahl, khl, Switzerland, wherever- for years to come. He's just not an Nhl-caliber defenseman on even a below-average team, let alone this one, which suddenly has a lot of organizational depth on the blue line.

Yeah theres that money but still has to be tough for the guy. Seems like a decent guy just not good enough for this level. I stopped being mad at him a while ago when Capuano kept throwing him out there. Not his fault our coach is an idiot. After his first few games he shouldve never hit the ice again let alone twenty minutes a night and out against opposing teams top players.

At one point the Isles were hemmed in their own zone and the puck was passed out to a Chicago dman, Bailey came out to challenge but missed the block. By the time Chicago had attempted two rebound shots and threw the puck back to that same dman, Bailey was just renetering the zone following his rink turn. Even knowing it was Bailey, I was flat out shocked at how lackadaisical he seemed.

I noticed him turn sideways to block a shot, like he didn't want to get hit with it.

There is a few line changes I would like the team to try. I have watched the
Tavares line since the beginning of the season, it just does not click. I would
like them to try Strome and let the Russians play together. The two guys they
signed had great chemistry when they played together in the past. Strome has
become a better two way hockey player. I think his play making ability will pick
up that first line, it's worth a try.

Agreed...Kulemin's not the right player for that line. You can tell they expect him to be in one spot and he's in another. They need someone with a better scorer's instinct.

Been saying this same thing. If its not Strome on that line than id like grabovski to get a shot. If its not grabovski then id like to see him and kulemin play a string of games together. I thought they would be playing together when we signed them.

Reinhart with his best game last night. Looked like he belonged in the line up for the first time since hes been called up IMO.

Team was changing. Two of the Isles Kane beat were chasing from the bench. Grabbo needs to hold on to it there and make the simple play and definitely not try to beat thre Hawks on his own ala JT.

They need a small shake up. Strome would be good, but I'd like to see Nelson up there.
