He has 1 start, in which he allowed 2 goals on 39 shots against the Blackhawks. That's a nice stat line, but one start is hardly anything to hang out hat on. Hell, 4 starts wouldn't have been anything to hang your hat on.
The other 3 games played were in relief of Schneider. He allowed zero goals twice, once on 3 shots and once on 7 shots. The other one he allowed one goal on 4 shots. - eichiefs9
I hope he went out with his boys last night and sux tonight. |

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/boards/thread.php?thread_id=121827&page=7 Here is the game we won where I was furious at how horrific Strait played and "ranted" that he needs to be traded or Waived before he starts costing us games and points. This is when You , Dan, Echiefs and all said I was Nuts.. that we were winning... and he is our 7th/8th D-man. My point was our moron coach playes him 20 minutes a game as a 1D .. .. No one agreed with this point. - niteislander
Yes you are the only one who said Strait stinks. We all love him. Somehow pointing out that just about every teams 7th and 8th men stinks mean we like strait. Can't make this shat up |

If by "called you nuts" you mean that I told you I could accept the logic of two regular players getting sick and two fill-ins taking their spot temporarily...then I guess your right? |

my point THEN... was our coach is too dumb not to play him 20 minutes and we had better options. A point I think everyone now agrees with. |

You could pull up the numerous other threads I commented in, in which I spent complaining about both Capuano and Strait.
You could also look up the stats and see that Brian Strait is 8th on the team in overall TOI/G, ahead of only rookie Griffin Reinhart. |

you mean to tell me that Strait Scratch on Saturday wasn't b/c he stinks. ugh, that definitely sounds very Cappyish.
Well hopefully he noticed that Isles Defense is way better without him. |

I agree, Donovan has been very good this year. Both him and Reinhardt have fill in nicely.
Boychuk +7, Leddy +7 , Donavan +4, Reinhart +1, Hickey +2
Strait is -8.
does anyone see the pattern here. |

I've changed my tune on the Donovan over Strait argument. I was wrong on that. Still doesn't change my argument that just about every teams 7th & 8th dmen suck and that's including Donvan. He just sucks a little less then Strait right now. |

Sorry but Donovan has not been very good. He played his best game of the year saturday and he was just ok. its like if a guy doesn't fack up bad he had a very good game. Low expectations I guess |

Here's my opinion on both...
Overall Capuano isn't a bad coach nor is he a good coach...
He certainly isn't gonna win more games then he loses for this team.
I'd love to know the reasoning for using Strait the way he has so far this year...
If baffles my mind that he plays him nearly 20 minutes a game, matches him against the top players. I hope Capuano realizes that Strait is a 7th-8th d-man and should be used accordingly. So we will see what he does with him when he is back from dealing with personal issues... I don't mind keeping Strait but he should play only when needed and should be given limited ice time.
I'd love for Capuano to learn how to use a timeout to stop momentum or give the players a break... I'd love for him to some how teach the players to stop giving the point man a country mile on the PK. I think we really just have to realize that Capuano is just a middle of the road coach sitting on the coat-tails of the players he was given. He isn't a coach that's gonna make a decision in-game to get a win. |

Reinhart looked better in last game but hasn't shown enough to handle the NHL yet, Donovan is puzzling bc he hasn't shown consistency on the NHL level but showed dominance on AHL level. For now there both serviceable options for the season but I will say, team should try to acquire another low-end vet dman for PO's..... |

That's basically what I said but in a nice way...
Capuano is def not my pick for coach and I have been calling for a real coach for a while now but as long as they are winning, we are stuck. |

Sorry bro, Cappy flat out sucks, the team has more talent and that's why isles are winning, its not coaching or the coaching staff bc other aspects like the PP & PK are not good either. Just imagine if isles had a more professional NHL coaching staff........... - Ur Not Me
Pretty sure that's what I just said |

They're going to six different children's hospitals to drop off presents on Wednesday. The Penguins went recently with a whole bunch of guys who now are showing symptoms. |
