I am still expecting the Flyers to win 3 out of the next 4.

Pretty delusional maybe.

Rayzor for the W tonight for sure though.

I understand that, which is why I said I personally don't believe Couturier would fit as well between Simonds and Schenn as Laughton does.

My main beef with coots is his speed. And that's just an aspect of his game that isn't going to drastically get better and will eventually even decline. From watching Laughton and Coots play in the same games - Laughton leaves me with a more positive impression and that's taking into consideration the linemates they're both playing with.

Laughton's points will come when he's been generating the chances he has - many of which were solely created by him driving play towards the net, something that I don't see Coots doing very often. About the most you see Coots do offensively on a consistent basis is drive play to the half boards and shoot an easy wrister to the goalie or go to the corner and throw a pass through the crease with no one in front.

- kcm57

Right now it is easy to say that because the team is strggling and Laughton has looked good. Couturier also handles heavy defensive minutes. Plays against top lines. He is not a burner but his skating isn't atroucious. He is usually positionaly sound.

Laughton is the shinny new toy. he is playing well but also it is a small sample size rigt now. Let's give it time.

#Accountability

Did Rinaldo even miss a shift after he took that o-zone minor that led to the goal?

- Tomahawk

I don't believe he did. There is two guys on this team that Berube seems to never see error in their game... Rinaldo and Hamburglar. They get their ice and do no wrong in his eyes

The only thing that will get Hextall's attention is something that involves a huge relief on the cap. Murray might do LeCavalier, Umberger and the #1 (2015) for Myers. But, I don't think Hextall does the deal.
- spatso

I would do this deal. Might regret it but I would certainly pull the trigger if it was on the table. Myers might be better then what the #5 overall gets you, I don't think this team is finishing below that. Plus you rid yourself of two terrible contracts. Done.

I hope so, if not I'm not sure I can even laugh at the team, my tears have all dried up and I stopped being mad. I'll be out of emotions.

Right now I personally would sit Schultz.
- SuperSchennBros

I agree with this. Schultz has been better than expected but his play of late hasn't been any better than Schenn, MDZ, or MacDonald.

They need at least 3 wins. If they can't beat Canes, Panthers, and Debs on home ice than there is more fuel for Tank mode. Bolts would be a tough game for them to win

I agree, and I'm not saying that Coots is awful and needs to be rid of by any means. I just personally like Laughton's play style and the way it fits with this current roster. If we saw the best of Coots last season, 40 points and solid defensive hockey, that's still a very valuable asset to have.

They all Fup but I think Berube's thinking that Grossmann is the only real physical Dman they have... Not to mention he is a +4 ( I don't know how.. But he is)
This team Does NOT clear the front of their own net. Physical Dman are needed on this team

Dunno, seems like he's busier playing roller hockey goalie than being inhospitable in front of the net these days.

I predict a 3-2 Flyers win, with every goal coming on the PP, since neither team can kill penalties to save their lives.

Fat Schenn in tonight for MDZ, eh? Did MDZ do anything so bad on Tuesday night that they needed to bench him? If he did, I didn't notice.

That sequence leading to the Hartnell goal was really ugly.

What happened to the PK this year?
It used to be a team strength.
Is missing Kimmo the main reason?

I vaguely recall the PK being a problem early last year, only to have them tighten it up as the year went along. I could be misremembering.

Is this suppose to be an insult? First of all, not even clever and second, people dislike MJL because 95% of the time, he's right. So thanks.

I didn't see the last game so I don't know what type of penalty Rinaldo committed (lazy preventable type or aggressive hockey play type....yes, there is a difference) and cant comment on what mistake Grossman made (mental or physical....again any rational person knows the difference)

Not speaking for Berube, but he probably holds them to different standards as well. mental and lazy mistakes/penalties are less tolerated than aggressive/physical mistakes/penalties are. I happen to agree with that mentality.

Whether or not his perception of what constitutes what type of incident it is, is correct....that is a different debate.

I'd put Carlo back in.
The D is awful getting shots through to the net and CC seems decent at this.

AMac and Coburn and lately even Streit have been terrible getting anything on net.

The Coburn Schultz pair adds 0 offense from the blue line.

Marc... dunno man, I think you've completely lost it. They're 2-8 in their last ten. They've scored 6 goals in their last three home games.

I'd love to see them turn this season into a silk purse but I think all we're getting is pig ear.

And for all the talk about moving their first overall for whomever, if they do that I'll become a Devils fan.

I don't think Giroux straight up is enough to get you Weber.

All the big money on the Weber contract has already been paid out. Weber now has a contract that is very cap friendly. Nashville has absorbed the financial hit, they recapitalized the team to get it done. It is almost impossible for them to move Weber at this time unless they get a monsterous return.

If the Flyers are ever to get a #1 D other than through the draft they will need to look at someone other than Weber.

- spatso

That's not true, still some big signing bonus years ahead, and still about 68M owed out of the 110M total for the deal.

Can't say for sure why this is, but they've been giving up 27% more shots on net while SH'd compared to last season:

2013-14: 44.8 SA/60
2014-15: 56.7 SA/60

Mason and Emery's SH SV%'s are slightly up from last year, so can't really point the finger at them.
