It's safe to say Giroux and Voracek are our bread and butter but this fear to split them to spread things out isn't trying everything to jump start the team. Toews and Kane can play together and they can play apart. Crosby and Malkin, the same. Datsyuk and Zetterberg, same thing. You might be amazed when you try something new. Berube is doing the same things he did at the end of last season.

He's saddled with bad contracts that are all but impossible to move. And when it comes to the guys he can and should move, he needs to wait till the deadline to get max value. Hextall is not looking to make moves to figure out a way to just barely squeak into the 2015 playoffs, he's looking for moves to make this team a top cup contender in 2 or 3 years. Live with it.

Agree. Hextall pretty much said as much in the begining of the year that it might be a step back to take 2 forward. If he makes moves it will be at the deadline when playoff teams need defenseman and forward depth going into the playoffs. He can get teams bidding against each other for the best offer.

No reason to make a desperate move now where his guys don't hold the value they would have if a playoff team lost a player to injury before a crucial run.

And that is franking BAD...but at least Vinny knows what direction the other teams net is ,and we can't score right now...so maybe just maybe he can put one in.

I don't care if Berube doesn't split apart Giroux/Voracek, but to say that he hasn't been creative with Vinny is simply asinine -- he has played on every single line since he has been a Flyer, at all three positions. He has played on three lines THIS season.

Berube isn't Scotty Bowman, but VLC has been given every opportunity to not be awful

Even on the PP he cant control the puck and shoots it wide or weak.

i would always circle these games on the calendar, because i hate that (frank)ing franchise and their (frank)ing fans with a (frank)ing passion. even though i was pretty sure we'd lose 2-1 in the final 5 minutes of a mind numbing 3rd period or get blown out 5-0...i still got up for these, and would even make my annual visit to the meadowlands for one of them. that i don't care bothers me.

I used to be an Eagles fan in addition to being a Flyers fan, but hockey was always #1 to me. I lost interest in the Eagles and now, on occasion, I even forget when the Flyers are scheduled to play whereas in the past, I would get amped up. I just can't identify with this team. Ughh...it upsets me that I've been lackadaisical these past few years. I see no commitment to a long term plan...and the fact that we keep acquiring these bandaids/retreads/once good players past their prime type of players just annoys the &*(^ out of me.

Right now teams know the Flyers are desperate to make a move. Also there is still time for other things to happen and playoff spots aren't confirmed yet.

Once the TDL comes close teams have a better understanding on what they need to make a run and teams might be more desperate if they see another team made a move that they will have to compete with.

Maybe Coburn gets a 2nd and 3rd now for example. At the TDL if a team lost their number 2 or 3 guy Coburn now becomes worht a first if the team has Stanley Cup assperations.
