Vinny was getting fourth line limited minutes the last number of games when he did play and the team couldn't cash. You can't blame a guy for everything while he's barely playing. We're not even treading in the right direction.
- SuperSchennBros

Vinny has been awful whether playing 5 minutes or 15.

Now if your point is that others have been just as awful, then yeah, pretty much. However, IMO, the only guy who has been as bad as Vinny is Umberger.

the flyers are playing the devils tonight? i am so depressed that literally have zero (frank)s to give about this game.
- hammarby31

A depleted Devils team, chock full of old men! Flyers got this game in the bag!

The only thing that will get Hextall's attention is something that involves a huge relief on the cap. Murray might do LeCavalier, Umberger and the #1 (2015) for Myers. But, I don't think Hextall does the deal.
- spatso

The flyers are rebuilding, even if they don't come out and say it. With both teams rebuilding I don't see a cap deal going down

Nobody blames the guy for everything. But saying that just because his role is limited means yeah, go ahead and play him even though he can't play that role is something we can agree to disagree about

By all accounts, Pierre raised a good man in Simon. It shouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume Pierre himself was a wonderful man, father, and husband. And a police officer to boot.

All the best to Simon and the rest of the Gagnes, regardless of if they see this post or not.

Hextall won't part with that 1st rounder unless he gets a crazy deal. That pick could be anywhere between 1-15, most likely in the top 10 at this point.
- NickTheKid87

I'm seeing a whole lot of thing by both the Coach and GM. Great job at the draft by Hextall but anything else is questionable. You still have struggling players at decent ages that you could use to shake the balance of the team. As for Berube, ever decision made and word spoken sounds like BS.

Same here...and before the Flyers sucked, I didn't look forward to Devils games to begin with. Of all the 29 teams to play, I always detested watching the Flyers play the Devils. I don't think the Devils have been exciting to watch since....

since....

Of course no one can blame this whole season on Vinny, but he and Umberger have been the worst of a bad bunch

Leaf nation was convinced he was a done deal to come to Toronto ( as they expect every top flight player and coach to do)

So get Umberger out and get Vinny in, choice is clear. With said, I wouldn't scratch Read for either guy but I'm not turning a blind eye to his play either.

Not for (frank)in sale, especially for what you think is an acceptable offer.

i would always circle these games on the calendar, because i hate that (frank)ing franchise and their (frank)ing fans with a (frank)ing passion. even though i was pretty sure we'd lose 2-1 in the final 5 minutes of a mind numbing 3rd period or get blown out 5-0...i still got up for these, and would even make my annual visit to the meadowlands for one of them. that i don't care bothers me.

What the hell would you like Hextall to do?

He's saddled with bad contracts that are all but impossible to move. And when it comes to the guys he can and should move, he needs to wait till the deadline to get max value. Hextall is not looking to make moves to figure out a way to just barely squeak into the 2015 playoffs, he's looking for moves to make this team a top cup contender in 2 or 3 years. Live with it.

I know, right? I don't understand the mentality that just because I've been shot five times, i shouldn't want a doctor to start working on any of the wounds because the other ones are still bleeding

The Flyers need to fix this poop step by step, not wait umtil the offseason to stop bleeding

In a 4th line role, RJ is the better fit.

It sure sounds like you are blaming him for everything. In fact that's exactly what it sounds like.If he's not playing well in a certain role, get credit and find another avenue. The best Coaches can do this.

It's safe to say Giroux and Voracek are our bread and butter but this fear to split them to spread things out isn't trying everything to jump start the team. Toews and Kane can play together and they can play apart. Crosby and Malkin, the same. Datsyuk and Zetterberg, same thing. You might be amazed when you try something new. Berube is doing the same things he did at the end of last season.

I agree. I want the rebuild to start now. Get the dead weight out or scratch them and play someone on the roster that they feel has a shot to make the team in the future.

And that is franking BAD...but at least Vinny knows what direction the other teams net is ,and we can't score right now...so maybe just maybe he can put one in.
