Fairly close. Would be a fun trip to see a game down in DC. It's on my list of things to do...someday.

I've been promising my son a game in DC for a long time.

Are you a fan of watching hockey games in a mall?

Also, a fanbase full of absolute sheep.

- jmatchett383

I've been to a Whalers game. It can't be worse than that. The city wasn't even open and half of the stores in the mall were boarded over.

DC is a weird sports town.

Everyone I know that lives down there follows the local teams, but aren't necessarily fans of the team. Likely, because they didn't grow up in the DC area, but live there only for work.

Yeah, I don't get the Vegas thing at all. Did you notice the Vegas ads that suddenly popped up on NHL network yesterday? I found that odd. They even had it on the front of the news desk during the telecast.

Do you disagree that Hextall would trade his #1 pick and Umberger AND Lecavalier to the Sabres for Tyler Myers? And that Murray would say no to that deal?
- MJL

If Hextall did that deal with this draft class, I'd be done as a fan.

It wouldn't surprise me if we found out it was already a done deal.

I'd like to travel around, see the Flyers in different venues. I didn't realize the Caps played in the mall, but if you're saying I can get an Orange Julius, hang out with pre-teens and watch hockey, then sign me up!

Wanna go to a Devils game? We could become Princeton Tigers fans, that would be cheaper.

Let's all welcome the Vegas Puck Slots to the NHL!

Partly owned by Pete Rose and Andrew Dice Clay.

One can only hope they choose players with better hairstyles than both of the owners.

I think it is. They're letting them gauge ticket sales and pretending it's no big deal. REALLY?

They should try that in Quebec and Toronto if they were serious about creating revenue and not just screwing around. Slide Arizona to Vegas if you want a team there, FLA to Quebec (gods, they can fill a stadium in NY with Quebec fans) and add a second team in Toronto. Seattle seems a bit far off.

all 57 of them? Ouch.

I used to be an Eagles fan in addition to being a Flyers fan, but hockey was always #1 to me. I lost interest in the Eagles and now, on occasion, I even forget when the Flyers are scheduled to play whereas in the past, I would get amped up. I just can't identify with this team. Ughh...it upsets me that I've been lackadaisical these past few years. I see no commitment to a long term plan...and the fact that we keep acquiring these bandaids/retreads/once good players past their prime type of players just annoys the &*(^ out of me.

hextall has a plan. he will execute the plan. we just have to continue to be patient.

Someone the other day on MvW tweeted the Las Vegas Black Aces. I thought that was a killer name.

The interwebs are pretty educational. That's where I learn all my moves.

But seriously, I thought we talked about my opinion being right 100% of the time.

You didn't even get the year right.

Tough being patient with a 40 year Cup drought, and no ending in sight. But what other choice do we have? Hextall did inherit a mess. I know things can change quickly, but hard to see where that true # 1 dman is coming from.

They don't need to because they know those markets are strong. The thing in Vegas is to see what interest is there. Seattle would be nice to give Vancouver a close rival.
