I want nothing to do with Doan. If he was a FA at the end of this season maybe, but with another year on his 35+ contract, no thank you.
Now if Anaheim is making Silfverberg available, GMJR should already be on the phone with them. - cap1681
Was he in Ottawa? If that is who I am thinking of than yes he would do well with the penguins. |

Pittsburgh needs a #1D, a strong PK center, and a top line RW. And a Sangoma for Fleury. Or trade Fleury. That's what it will take to win another championship. |

I've never understood why you're a Penguins fan. All you ever do is complain about them and want every other player traded away. |

This would be true if I targeted players at random. I think I have have provided sufficient reasons for what I find grievances with and provided outcomes for the proposals I wish to discuss.
Being a fan of a team that I watched win 23 games and then followed up by winning 22 games was a nightmare. Drafting Crosby was the reward for being that brutal. Now that we have Crosby, it's been a great strain to watch the Penguins win all of four playoff rounds since 2009. |

Yes. Letang is a #3, and he's making #1 money. It's going to continue to limit Pittsburgh's effectiveness in the playoffs and increasingly will affect the Penguins' cap situation. |

Not to mention he was terrific at faceoffs - all-pgh
A little behind on the blog, but back to Francis, I remember talking to Tyler Wright when he was in Pittsburgh about Francis and faceoffs. He said that Ronnie would often let other centers win faceoffs throughout the game, just to scout them out and/or set them up for important draws that he needed to win. Wicked smart...
That is why I always take faceoff percentages with a grain of salt... I'd love to see those percentages broken down by zone or period to try to see who wins more of the "important" face offs. |

Just curious of who in the league you would want anchoring our back end? |

Mark Giordano. I wish the Penguins would have very, very aggressively pursued him before the Flames got off to this start.

Doughty. Suter. Keith. Weber. Giordano. McDonagh. Chara. Hedman.
Not real #1s who are better than Letang: Kronwall, Subban, Karlsson, Pietrangelo, Ekman-Larsson, Vlasic. |

So there's only 8 #1 defense men in the league? Interesting |
