A little concerned with Scandellas recent transgressions. Pretty aggressive slash and a couple head shots in the last couple games.

I love going to Wild games, strictly for this reason. My head is on a swivel at the X, it's ridiculous

While I don't condone head shots, it's nice to see at least one of our d-men show a little nastiness (aside from the nearly deceased Ballard)

Does a win in this game mean Yeo is going to keep these lines together? I hope not. He's really got it (frank)ed up now.

Have heard from several NHL players very unhappy with escrow levels (16%). A vote on the salary cap inflator may not be a guaranteed yes.

I imagine the PA will push for it, but if there's no inflator, the cap isn't rising to $73-million. It'll be stalled closer to $70-million.

That's how little actual revenue growth the NHL appears to have given the fall of the Canadian dollar and fewer outdoor games this year.

Maybe spoke too soon. This could be bad news for the Wild.

Wondering if this will end Ballards career? He almost looked like he was convulsing at one point. It didn't look good.

I think he was and after watching it a couple of times I think the convulsing may have been a reaction to pain in his face from the impact on the dasher. He really looked like he was in extreme discomfort.

Any news about a hearing? Given the recent fine and a similar play and penalty, I'd assume at least a game was coming but this is the wheel of discipline so who knows.

Every time I see or hear Ballard, all I can think of is this....

separate thing, you guys think the odd shape of the glass/boards right there contributed to the injury? Did it create a bigger direct impact area because he could hit the top of the board unimpeded? (as opposed to deflecting some of the force off the glass)

Maybe they could pad the top of the board there?

Cherry will be all over this on Saturday. He's been calling for a protective cover on the dasher for years.

What I have wondered about is why they aren't rounded or at least angled to the glass. Even a beveled edge would seem to be potentially better.

That gif is so great, never gets old. In regards to the glass and boards, it's tough to say. Obviously players need to be aware of where they are at and who is coming...tough to do in such a lightning fast game like hockey. Maybe don't allow rich, d-bags the chance of sitting between benches, thus keeping the same glass layout for every game?

Thought you guys might find this interesting...from the local paper...

Reaves said that he tried addressing Scandella after his hit on Oshie. “I kind of called him out while he was on the bench,” Reaves said. “He jumped out and his coach (Mike Yeo) took him off. Every time I was out there, the coach called him off and I couldn’t really do anything. I finally had a chat, but then it’s a situation where if I jump a guy, I put my team down.”

Probably a smart play by Yeo, most likely thinking team first. Couldn't afford to have Scandella in the box, nor did he probably want to risk additional penalties putting the Blues on the PP.

I am sometimes amazed at how offensively inept this team is... Especially given the level of talent on this roster. Difficult to remember back to the last actual "pretty" goal this team has scored this season, or at least one that didn't come via a scrum in front of the goalie. As I've said before, there is absolutely no "niftiness" to this team at all. No ability to simply make other teams look silly whatsoever. I'm growing tired of the "blue collar", crash the net, pinch the puck along the boards and always pass 7 times before shooting style of play. This team is starting to revert back to looking like the cute little team that could. Instead of being lauded by other teams/fans in the league, we get a nice little pat on the head and an A for effort.

It's a hair ripping out, want to throw something at the TV, bust your fist through a wall like siege of vexation watching these bone heads nance around on the ice.

and honestly, even though I said I was willing to be patient with Coyle in the last thread... I think it might be time to start scratching him. He looks like nothing more than an average at best hockey player with the only real upside to his game being his size and rapidly waning potential.

Listening to Yeo prattle on about how well he thinks the guys played in light of a loss and offering his conciliatory anecdotal dog poop excuses after a game like last night when they completely poop the bed offensively is just about as frustrating. Makes me want to throw a couple mumchucks to his face, neck and head areas sometimes.

They should have easily skated to a 3 or 4 goal win last night, instead we get to hear about all the positives we can take away from it. >end rant<

Fun factoids; Wild PP on the road is now an appalling and embarrassing 1 for 45.

Wild managed a big fat ZERO SOG on 4 odd man rushes as well as 2 PP's last night.

That particular stat is almost if not more so embarrassing as the 1 for 45.

They don't play as a unit. The wrong guys are playing together. Have been all year. It's why we're 10th.

In all seriousness, what else is there to say about this team? I get so annoyed and frustrated watching this team and then I just throw my hands up and ask what for. I think it's starting to turn to apathy. Oh hey, lookit, another pass happy 2-on-1. BIG suprise. Goody gumdrops, another limp d!ck power play where they can hardly gain the zone. Haven't seen that yet this year. I believe I turned to the wall last night and said, "I'm glad I'm going to stay up late for this", and that was in the first period. (My wall is totally sick of me.)

Same problems over and over and over and nothing is done about it. I was so thrilled to read that the top-4 defensemen have only played in the same game like seven times this year. Wonderful, another crutch for Yeo to explain why things aren't working and to keep trying his totally (frank)ed up line combinations.

I was going to start coming in here and just post the line combinations I want to see over and over because I think the lines are the genesis of just about all of our problems. But I couldn't bring myself to do it because I've already done that many times. It would be like the Barstool Bob doll you get for your kid for Christmas - pull the string and he says "Give me a beer" or "Give me a bigger beer" and that's it.
