Goalies are hard to judge. They all develop at different speeds. I thought Hackett was holding his own fine here last year until he got hurt. The team in front was so awful there was no chance for him to have any type of real success.

Larsson has 18 points in 21 games and is a +3. Is he absolutely tearing it up? No, but I don't expect him to. But considering that the team is doing poorly, having a + rating shows his play isn't the problem.

I think the coach there needs to go. While the team isn't loaded with talent from top to bottom, there's still plenty of it on the team that they should not be mired in the skid that they've been on. The first 9 games or so of the season prove that.

when they cut ties with rolston, should have made the switch in rochester during the offseason

as for hackett, he looks like a goalie that plays better when he gets 35 plus shots a game instead of 18 or so, from what I recall

Enroth would be my choice as the one to go as I believe Neuvirth is the future, along with the farm system, which makes Hacket perfectly acceptable as the backup.

To me, Larsson is playing exactly like the player he is and there is nothing wrong with that, as you said. He's an ideal 3rd/4th line winger that won't cost a lot of money, will be a big time pest to the other teams good players, play well defensively, and chip in offensively. I'm not sure where all the hate is coming from towards him.

Coaching deficiencies can be masked by decent QB play.

Replace Orton and Hackett, keep the GM and Marrone (on a short leash)

- sbroads24

I 100% agree here

The play calling seems to be set up to kick field goals which unless this is 1998 is not how to win in the league anymore.

Whaley has done a fine job.

Whaley should stay IMO.

,

- sbroads24

he got marrone
he got ej
he went with ej, thad lewis and tool for this coming season
when fred and cj went down, he brought in no rb's
the o line is average, at best
never addressed te
overpaid for watkins (makes no sense if you do not have a qb)
not peggy's man

I could go on

My issue with Larsson, is that I think we have a bunch of guys that will be coming up from the system that play like that. There's only so much room. I just don't know that he's done enough to warrant getting an NHL spot so far. I think we already have a guy that fills his exact role in Flynn.

False. Russ Brandon got Marrone
He brought in Bryce Brown and Boobie Dixon
Marrone benched EJ

Listen, all of this might be true, but if you have a good QB, all of the above is forgotten.

In 2 years Whaley has made this maybe the most talented Bills team in 15 years

Actually, he did. But at the same time, he didn't really have to as that's why Dixon and Bryce Brown were brought in during the offseason.

The QB and the O line are the two biggest weaknesses.

You also can't judge a GM based on one pick, where half of the decision was Buddy Nix's.

Not to mention, he traded down before picking EJ, and got a great #2 WR in Woods, and a stud OLB in Alonso

when the rb's went down, they grabbed nobody

http://www.cbssports.com/...actions/BUF/buffalo-bills

the o line, he spent a second rd pick and a 5th rd pick and those two players have failed big time

qb play is the biggest need, and he did nothing this past offseason to address it til august 30th

I do not see it

people look back in hindsight and say peggy should have moved ruff and regier during his first off season, why should it be any different for a team that has had a 9-7 season in 2004 (third in division) and no other winning seasons since 1999

I agree, preston brown to name another. Even if we had an average qb wed win atleast 2 more games. One intersting point was what if we had a guy like tannehill or dalton. Not great but would win us a few more games.

if we had an average nfl coach we would have 2 more wins this season

it's easy to say it's the qb
someone called those plays vs the texans
someone called those plays in the 4th quarter vs the fins and chiefs
someone called that punt on 4th and 2 down 14 vs the broncos with less then 6 minutes in the game
someone called that punt on the 4th and 1 down a few points to the chiefs at home late in 4th quarter at midfield

Appears to be a product of having good line mates, not a productive player

May just be me but the 1st half play calling seems to be good its once you hit the second half its like they forgot how to coach an offense. THey play scared, scared of a turnover etc
