What that just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in his rambling, incoherent response was he even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award him no points, and may God have mercy on your soul for sharing it

Are you okay in my using this during one of my 3 conf calls tomorrow when people say things that make no sense at all?

I have to disagree here. In my opinion, Lecavalier didn't look comfortable at all in the spot in the slot that Hartnell used to occupy. He's much more comfortable in the spot on the other side that Voracek is at.
- MJL

He still produced in that spot and hasn't since not being given a second opportunity.

So, last season in the Playoffs, when he was put in a suitable role, Akeson didn't show you anything that might indicate he's capable? He didn't "do his part"? Hint: He produced more points in a seven game playoff last season, against a stingy team the Flyers have trouble with, than Laughton has in his first 15 NHL games against various opponents...this included scoring the only goal in game 7...nah, he hasn't shown much a a sign...

- exlund

Berube is the one that gave Akeson a huge opportunity to play in the NHL at a huge opportune time to begin with, maybe even before he did anything to earn it. So why would Craig Berube take away such an opportunity to further his chances in the NHL?

Nope...can't do it. The situation is still salvageable so long as he's still Flyers property...maybe if they don't re-sign him, I'll stop. But why wouldn't they sign him? He's at the very least, a very good AHL player...the Phantoms need to keep a good team in that new building.
- exlund

To be fair, if they don't have him in their future plans, then letting him walk and pursue his career elsewhere would be the right thing to do, if that's what Akeson wants.

I think he had 2 PP assists playing in that spot. He has zero PP goals on the season.

Of the umpteen conference calls that I have to take part in, on a regular basis. There is never anything productive that comes out of it. Stop doing what you're doing that is actually productive, in order to waste a half an hour on something that could've easily been handled with an E mail.

I'd look no further then the New Jersey game, second game of the season, as well as Montreal, the third game of the season. He saw a small sample size. There was some product, not a lot, and then he got hurt.

i agree it's salvageable. i'm just saying you're wasting pixels. you've clearly explained the situation in a very reasonable manner, many, many times. you won't get anywhere here with it.
- hammarby31

You're right...I guess I find it cathartic to get my thoughts out there ...and you never know who might see it. I'm pretty sure some "Flyer people" read Bill's blog.
I've also emailed some people about it. I guess I feel like if I keep pointing out what I'm seeing, that maybe, somehow, it makes a change..or at least makes some people think.

If nothing else, you can't say I'm not passionate about the issue...and I'm only passionate about it because I'm passionate about the Flyers.

I agree. A selfish part of me wants him to stick around so when guys like RJ and VLC and perhaps others are purged from the lineup, he can be plugged in...but if that can't happen going into this off-season I wouldn't blame him if he tried to get a better opportunity...not that the window is completely closed in Philly...things can change in a hurry and he could get more shots, maybe in better situations...he could want to stick around and there's not much reason for the org. not to retain him.

Emailed who? The Flyers front office? And you think that could change how they see Akeson? Am I understanding this correctly?

Almost as intriguing as continuously trying to change the minds of those on a hockey website no?

Same poop son.
