And since no one in the analytics community suggests you should rely "SOLELY" on analytics either...is there a point?

I think it was Gabe Desjardins who broke winning down as 33% possession (Corsi), 33% goaltending/special teams, and 33% luck.

Flyers obviously got a really large dose of the latter two in the game, but i think we all know that's not a repeatable/sustainable path to victory.

Possession is the sole part of the equation that you can improve on, and repeat. See: two Cups for the Kings, as the leagues best FF-close team.

How about Doughty getting caught flat footed on that first goal? wheres the stat for that? must have been an epic rager at Cart's and Rick's pad friday night...
