Skin of teeth.

Three out of six points on the trip so far, really should have four points...it's not a complete turnaround, but maybe they can get on a run here and make it so the playoffs aren't just a pipe dream by the end of the month.

You can already see how hard they've made it on themselves -- Rags already have two games in hand, still up by four points

Thankfully, Carter played like the Jeff Carter we've grown to know and love.

When he's on, there are few better. When he's missing, you can take a nap, no matter where he is on the ice

Agreed, he's always been streaky, he was a beast in the last game in Philly.

Really glad for Mason!!!

Jesus, his record, with that save % is a crime, hopefully this puts us on a roll.

OK, I'm done cursing Umberger's stupid slap over the glass, with no one on him.

Since he isn't making the call, it is always accurate to say they say

hmm. it appears he selects his declaratory attribution verbs very methodically

One thing is clear from this road trip. Berube has the collective ears of this team.
- Just5

Once Hextall said that Berube's job wasn't in jeopardy, the team figured they may as well play to win.

Great win. That's a tough team to play in their house. They've shut out 3 of their last 4 opponents I think I heard. Same recipe as last year they kept most of the shots to the outside. Mason saw most of them.
- Just5

i guess it depends on you define great. i don't categorize that as great. not by any stretch.

they got 3 of 6 on this tough road trip, so that's obviously a positive. i think they were uneven throughout, so i don't know it's really something to build on. for their sake, i hope they do with another win against a poopty, beat up team in columbus next.

mason had a lot of tough saves to make. he was great.

i don't know that i'd call it a good win. getting outshot 38-16 is pretty one sided. the d blocked a lot of shots, and mason was awesome. they're lucky. simmonds goal was weak and it's amazing they didn't give up a tying goal with the late pps.
- hammarby31

this team has obviously been scuffling. the effort really seemed to be there. the defense blocked a ton of shots. a lot of the kings chances, especially on the PP, were forced to the perimeter.

youre right in that i wouldnt call it a domination. but it was a much needed win for you guys against a decent opponent, in which a lot of things that are typically weaknesses were decent.

And Umberger....................
- puckhead17

it really could have cost them a point. thankfully, it didn't. such an easy play to make there.

he was invisible. except for the 2 point blank shots when he missed the net.

I just think a win like this is important for their pretty fragile psyche right now. They've put in a lot of hard work on this trip and it was crucial that they got rewarded for it. This is the type of gritty win that can springboard a team into a winning streak.

i like that he wanted to hammer it out, but he could have used a wrister and made sure it stayed low.

It's not like he's a young inexperienced player, dumb mistakes have cost this team wins.
And he arrived in a deal for the guy who threw his glove at a player on a breakaway.

Sheesh, almost like Hartnell never left.

I just had a stroke of genius. We flyers fans should put money into a collection and offer it to Lecavalier so that he retires.
