I want to mention what a classy move it was by the players to give Hartley the fireman's hat last night for his 400th win. That is a tight knit and classy group in that locker room from the coaches to every player and likely to all training staff etc.

Once would be good... But you can't help yourself.

I guess this goes back to building from the back out - are the Flames going to be able to sustain this type of success (while being outshot) because of a strong top 4? The Avs definitely have a stronger top 6 but theres no arguing they dont have the D calgary does.

I think the flames are going to be one of the most interesting teams to follow just because they're kind of an anomaly right now.

I understand why people say the Flames' season so far has been an anomaly based on advanced analytics, but if you take the concept of what made a team successful just 4 or 5 years ago, the Flames match up perfectly: hot goaltending, good defense, good coaching/leadership/culture/identity, and timely depth scoring.

That is a pretty cool thing. It is looking like we finally have a first line center. I can't even remember the last time we have had one. Was it Savard? Conroy was definately a second line center playing first string. I would like to point it out the flames have always had good dmen.

Or McGrattan will get demoted. Sadly, his days as an NHLer are coming to an end. I'd rather see a few more games of Baert / Ferland / etc.. I doubt anyone would claim him so they could bring him back up later if they want to.
