And I know eeryone keeps saying IF you got McDavir Eichel you trade Couturier in a package to get Weber but is he realy the guy anymore or are getting another Pronger type situation. Player getting older, have to give up ton to get him what is his expiration date.

I wouldn't touch Weber on that contract w/ a ten foot pole. IDC how good he is.

What's the package include? Weber will be 30 next season. No reason why he can't continue to be a top defenseman for another 8 years.

Really? That contract, compared to what he'd make if he negotiated today, is good value.

Yes, and yes.

But do you really think the Flyers get that kind of deal?

- MBFlyerfan

Well I'm saying that's what it would take. That's a Lindros sort of return, which is what I think the top pick this year would take.

Nashville wouldn't do that.

Only if he plays at or near his current level for another 11 seasons after this one. The recapture penalties are huge.

Do yourself a favor. Use the cap recapture calculator and see what happens if nashville trades Weber to the Flyers this upcoming off season, and Weber retires two seasons early. The penalty to the Flyers is 714K. What will the cap be by then?

Not worried about cap recapture.
