Yeah, if they can land McDavid or Eichel, I wouldn't be opposed to moving Couturier for a young scoring winger with speed
- BiggE

Or you keep Giroux, Couturier, Laughton in the middle and have McDavid and Eichel play wing.

A lot of younger guys play wing so not to have too much defensive responsibility right away. McKinnon plays some wing.

I wouldn't move McDavid from center. He's amazing there. As long as he's not punching walls.

And if Couturier, at that point, could be used to fill the big hole on defense, it has to be considered.

He is. But it is also juniors. He will have an adjustment period. If you can lessen the defensive work at center I don't see it as a bad thing. I didn't say I wouldn't move him but i would wait untill things shake out before just moving Couturier.

I think it will be considered to move 14.
At the end of year
We get 97
We Get Babcock
We trade 14 for a solid blue liner to work with prospects
We buy out one of VL or Zombie
And away we go!

We arent getting McDavid OR Eichel guys..... Flyers are gonna play just good enough to maybe squeak in or fall short. Thats why we will always be medicore.

Yep.. exactly. Like I said - Just the right amount of "suck" to not make playoffs (or early exit) and not get a top 3 pick...

I think your prediction is a likely scenario on where they finish. But I'll disagree with the latter. I think the Flyers have a strong core to build on. You can still get some good players drafting in that position. They have some good prospects. And I trust Ron Hextall. The future is bright if you ask me.

Yea, I would like to think so. Unless Hextall makes some aggressive moves I dont see that happening for at least 3 years.

It could take that long, but I see things moving in the right direction, and the Flyers being a formidable team as soon as next season.

Well, that wont happen unless Umberger, Vinny, and maybe a couple of our defenders are gone. Also there are several players that need to progress or play to their potential.

Lots of things need to happen, but things can happen real quick in the NHL. And I emphasize could.

I agree that it could, but not without a coaching change. The 06-07 to 07-08 turnaround was 39 points, and they didn't even get a first rounder who made the team as an 18 year old like they might in the 2015 draft.

You would have to believe one of the two anchors will be bought out at end of the season. I don't see VL being here.
This team doesn't get blown out but you can tell they just don't have enough to finish off games. Weather it is scoring or defensive capability. A 3-1 third period or even 4-1 lead is not safe.
I have said it before... I want them to be good..but they are they not. I hate missing the playoffs ( especially if the Leafs make it) but this is the year to have that lottery pick.

I just dont think they will end up being in the bottom 10. Even though they arent all that good, they still have talent and should improve enough this season to challenge for a playoff spot. No way Couts, Read and even Vinny continue on this horrid pace all season long, among others. Hexy will need to be a seller at the deadline in order to get a top 5 pick IMO.

I just want to point out that the Flyers defense was outstanding last night. They didn't allow one shot on goal the entire night. Things are looking up.

So when does the fact that the Flyers are 2-10-1 or something with Coburn in the lineup come into consideration? When is Colaiocavo getting back on the ice?

I hope Hexy is thinking like us, I hope some of these players pick up their games so Hexy can move them?

I dont want McDavid or Eichel. Id rather they trade that pick(if they get it) for a #1 defensemen.
