shed a poop load of every tear imaginable.
that, IMO, made up for every PR misstep this team has ever made. it was perfect |

No idea...but I'm liking the forward group we have on tonight. Hopefully Mac let's them play like this for two games before changing poop up. |

been so focused on "alfie day", just realized what the lines are:
mac - turris - stone
hoff - zibby - ryan
milo - lazar - chiasson
condra - legwand - neil
i think given the forwards on the roster, and the fact that neil will never be benched, that's probably the best (in theory) possible lines we could throw out there. i agree, hope they leave them together for awhile. |

they've looked good, IMO. shots aren't super high, but there have been about 10-15 shots that have JUST missed. I hope Maclean sticks with this lineup for a few games. |

I like how when our 2nd line picks up, our 1st seems to be invisible. Defensively I though they played better, but one of Boro or Gryba needs to be scratched for Cowen. And for the love of all things good, move Phillips down to the 3rd pairing and get that Methot-Karlsson line back up. Speaking of Methot, for a guy who hasn't played for months, he looked real good. |

If he doesn't play this lineup Saturday, then I stay by what I said about him being a mediocre coach, who has lost touch of the team. |

methot looked real good in his first game back. seem to be sheltered a bit to start, but got tougher and tougher minutes as the game went on. take gryba out, put cowen back in, and that gives us a pretty decent d |

Uhm, did you actually watch that game Tuesday night?
Recap: 2:20 gone in 2nd. Cowen in the left circle, with EONS of time. Invites Islanders forechecking, whiffs on the puck, and then we are basically chasing the puck for the remainder of the period (we only get like 3 or 4 shot attempts in 17 minutes). It's exactly those kind of screwups/turnovers that's been killing us this season.
Not to mention that second Islanders goal...
But it's good to have Methot back. Looked pretty solid in his first game |

if this team ever "turns the corner" they need cowen to be a top 4 d-man every night.....in order for that to happen, they need to let him play through a bad game, especially if he'd played a bunch of real good ones leading up to it. gryba has been average to mediocre all year, and is completely unimportant to this team moving forward.
if the choice is to scratch gryba or cowen, that should be an easy choice......also, gryba got walked around about a dozen times tonight....he's just too damn slow. |

Sadly, that old line up looks more exciting than what we're dressing these days....and Bonk would be our 2nd line center if he was still around. |

First of all, Cowen is on the left side, Gryba on the right. So they wouldn't replace one another.
Gryba has been the least inconsistent defender in our own end this season. And sure, that probably means between average to mediocre. But that's just the nature of our skaters right now.
Letting Cowen play through a bad game worked just spendidly last season (I'm curious, do you recall your thoughts about what we should do with Cowen back then?). More than 20 games into the season you can't wait for players to turn a corner. You just have to leave the bad ones in the press box if they can't execute. |

I think it might be time to trade away Michalek for whatever we can get before his value completely drops. As a replacement, Sens should recall Shane Prince. |

In the best of worlds, yeah, but who would want that contract? Doesn't seem like good value for any team.
Arizona perhaps? Being reunited with Zbyněk might be the positive change he needs. |
