He could also wait and maximize value on deadline day, still enough time to fall to the bottom *IF that's what he wants.

I suspect the media and potentially the NHL would be all over him if he moved Enroth in the middle of a win streak for draft picks and called up lieuwen.

- Sabresfan-365

The NHL office has had a grudge for the sabres since the no goal

let alone no goal 2

let alone the draft "lottery" when the pens got crosby

as long as the nhl has a draft lottery behind closed doors, (frank) the nhl office

never do I hear them ripping the oilers for having a poopstorm on the ice

Too many details on the mistakes the players have made even though they have won. It's not how you play the game ...its the final score that matters. Sabres have been pretty darn good lately.

I honestly can't tell if that's good (for you) or not

But I'm a little jealous that you even have the opportunity to play.

Was playing soccer earlier this week and couldn't see 2 feet in front of me. Forecast has been Fog and rain for the better part of a month now

it's an interesting topic

ship out the vet's on the current team or improve the team you ice for the months ahead

- homiedclown

It really is. You can cite examples from both sides to prove your point. I don't mind winning. All of My teams (Braves, Sabres, Bills) dont do enough of it.

None of the teams I like have the guy that everyone else wanted either. That is where I stand with the Sabres. They have a chance to get the guy everyone else wants.

Great point GMTM hasnt proven crap at this point and a #1 pick is too easy.

I do like some of the trades he has made, but not picking Barbashev is something I didn't like.

Tanking?

I am happy to see these guys winning, but I also think the way they are doing it is unsustainable over an 82-game schedule. I also think we're taking advantage of some teams sleeping on us. Honestly, I had been skipping games prior to Thanksgiving because it was simply not entertaining, so this is good for the soul and probably good for our plans long-term.

Results, however, are results. If this team is good enough at more or less rock bottom to win more games than they lose, then as more talent comes into the lineup over the next 2-3 years I feel good they will be entering a system with a taste for blood. Losing is a disease, winning is a state of mind.

I'm personally just enjoying the ride right now and am glad that our young players don't have showing up = failure burned into their minds every night. But I think we'll be closer to McDavid than Frederick Stanley at the end of the year. The nice thing about 82 game seasons is things tend to even out and regress to the mean.

So... right now the idea of making moves to push for the postseason is silly to me. If we're 4 points out come February my tone will have to change.

It sounds like some conspiracy nut talk but I wonder if the NHL implements the lottery changes if Buffalo's not rebuilding at the same time Connor McDavid is draft eligible. I know it sounds insane....and yet somehow it wouldn't surprise me.

Good post. Maybe it is too simple, but the way i look at it is; Do I want playoffs this year. Or do I want the next up and coming superstar. Knowing this team, I want the superstar.

They aren't going to tank no matter who the 1st pick is next year, some will have to come to grips with that.

but if Myers is this great player, it should not be crazy to expect him to lead the sabres to a large chunk of wins, with moulson, ennis, girgens, risto, big z, a descent third and 4th line with a coach that demands you lay it all on the ice and the hottest goalie in the nhl

We are the lowest scoring team in the league. What Myers has to do with that I have no idea.
