I'd even be nice enough to throw in Umberger and VLC if they include Toews.
- WarriorHockey21

Don't anyone take this as the defense of one player but I personally think when one person or many people have a hard on for one player, they go into a game looking for mistakes by that one player and focus purely on that player's mistakes. They go into a game hating that player, they come out of the game of that player. 2real hates Coburn, so he takes satisfaction a loss because Coburn contributed to the loss by accidentally and unintentionally hitting Mason. If Lecavalier is a minus two in a 5-2 game, it's directly his fault just by being on the ice, whether the goals were directly his fault or not or even if he's not only the minus two player on the team.

The team has to get better. I hate how this team is being handled. It's like Berube demands only certain players to be accountable, while others continue to go on with their struggles. It also seems like these guys have to prove something to him, while holding no accountability himself. What if he simply isn't the solution? What if things just aren't working with him behind the bench. There is no pride or passion at times out there.

The inevitable 7-2-1 streak over the last 10 games to go from top 5 draft pick, to the 6-12 range is coming. You can write it down.

Missed the game last night.
It sounds like they played a good first period and then stopped?
Who was on the second PP?
Couts, Read, Laughton, AMac, ?

Is Rayzor in net tonight?

Can't wait to see the game winning goal, it sounds comical but fitting for this team to lose that way.

I've been to two games, in person, where the game was pretty much lost in the final minute or so (Montreal in October, and the Wild on Lindros/Leclair night).

I don't think I could handle it if I stayed up until 1am last night to watch that ending.

Corey Crawford (wearing a boot) said he missed a step at a concert over the weekend. #Blackhawks

I wonder if booze was involved?

Even if that happens, not such a big deal. Can still pick up a franchise-altering player at 6-12 this year.

I believe it was Raffle as the final on the 2nd PP unit.
No idea on goalie but I'd expect Razor.

Thanks

I am in agreement with your assessment of Nik G

Berube clearly isn't the answer going forward. I don't see any reason why he should be kept.
- PLindbergh31

The catch 22 of it all is if we bag Berube, then it looks like that the Flyers front office doesn't know wtf they're doing. That's why they should have kept the interim title on Berube way back when. I'm sure they hired him with hopes that he would implement a new system that the current players would adhere to and they he knew how to treat/develop our youthful players...but how much research was done prior to his hiring? No one knows....Flyers are too short-sighted and reply on hopes instead of hard facts/accomplishments.

I can't wait to see how the Flyers do after Poppa Ed kicks the bucket.

Please don't say that. I am totally psyched to get a top 2 pick.
Clarke left a mess for Homer.
Homer has left a semi-mess for Hextall ( bad contracts.. But good prospects along with G and Jake)
Let's hope Hextall doesn't piss away our top 2 pick for a 7 Dman, and we will have a great team in 2-3 years

Not sure how it's dramatic, but ok. Umberger has been a frackin useless turd all season and everyone knows it except Chief.
- aantny88

Del Zotto is picking splinters out of his ass by sitting in the press box by being scratched one game. Yes, dramatic.

of course. he can't sit everybody, but the most deserving players have been immune until yesterday. umberger is next up front, and grossmann or coburn should be next on d. those 2 haven't been downright horrible - they do a lot of good things, but the bad is starting to pile up, and coburn has only looked really good to me once since his return.

this squad has turned into the 07 team in 10 games. that's all it's taken. still a long way to go, but i see virtually nothing that indicates they can turn this around and be competitive the rest of the season. a few individual players bringing it every night, including a rookie call up, does not make a good team.

- hammarby31

I am not sure benching is the answer. Negative reinforcement rarely works well.
A lot of players are truly under-performing under Berube. For me, he does not seem to have experience in placing his players in the most suitable roles/ places and getting them perform in these roles.

Benching right now looks like treating symptoms rather than the cause.

I was at the Wild game.
They played really well I thought, really should have won. But that is a sign of bad teams, unable to win on those nights.
When Amac wiped out behind the net I had that sinking feeling a goal was coming.

You can feel it coming this year, it typically follows 2-3 botched clearing attempts and then bam, goal against.

You worry too much. This is a make good for Kane. If they finish out of the playoffs (and they will) the lottery is rigged in our favour.

Ofc, that would hurt more. Hanifin (likely #3) would probably be the the 1st-overall pick in many other drafts. So yeah, dropping out of the top-3 would definitely not be cool.

If this team gets a top 2 pick and a couple trades they could be a very solid team again. This is the year where everyone needs defenseman and the Flyers might be able to unload some at the deadline for good returns. I acutally think Hextall could make this team pretty solid with the right moves and top 2 pick
