I actually thought Coburn played a good game up until that last sequence. I thought the forwards were as much to blame if not more on that final play. The defense made a mess of it, but it was the 3rd man in who scored the goal while Laughton and Schenn stood around watching. I don't understand how that can happen with 10 seconds left. Especially, a young guy like Laughton whose only played a handful of NHL games
- PhillySportsGuy

I swear that is about thinking you just got the game to OT while the other team plays to the final buzzer

I am not thrilled about Schenn not skating hard to get back. He just glided then realized he needed to get back and by then it was too late.
- nastyflyergirl

More shame on him more for that stupid lazy pass that got picked off by Nieto to start it all.

The lack of awareness of some of these guys at times is astounding.

So Coots w/ the first PPG of his career. That's pretty cool, right?
- Tomahawk

It was certainly the high point of the night. The 2nd PP unit seems better with Laughton on it.

good to see that its a forward heavy first round considering they really need to start replenishing the forwards prospect pool

I'm late on here....anyone see Dreger tweeting that Vinny is considering retirement after this season and wants out?

Yes but once you make the mistake you get your ass back to help out.

If he retires he leaves millions on the table. It's unlikely.

The report was that he'd retire after next season, when his salary drops considerably.

I don't think he makes as much in the final two years. He's still getting paid from the Lightning as well. I believe he's the highest grossing hockey player in NHL history

Like TM said above, the awareness level is awful.

All he had to do there was take two more strides, gain the red-line, and dump it in to kill 20 secs off the clock for the sure point. Instead, he floats the pass across the middle and they go home w/ nothing. Love the kid to death, but he's still making rookie mistakes in his 4th-year in the league.

By leaking he plans to retire in 2016 he'd basically be giving up $6 million before taxes just to get away from Berube.

But for a guy who's made so much money already, I can believe it.

If he's truly unhappy and isn't playing to the level he's comfortable with, I could see him doing it.

Yeah, way too many of their dmen and some of their forwards handle the puck like a hand grenade coated with the Ebola virus.

Just saw that actually. Said he'd retire next year and leave $6 million on the table. That's a lot but Tampa will be paying him forever and, believe it or not, not all people are money hungry to where they would be unhappy for 2 years just to get the $$$

This all correct. If he retires after next year, he leaves 6 million on the table. Perhaps less, because it's likely he'd be bought out before one or both of those seasons anyway.

That's racist. Just grouping the forwards and defensemen together like that and making blanket statement generalizations, then you start picking on Ebola. Have some class.

Well, it's easier to turn down $6M when you were making over $7M/year for a decade.

Unless he's Jack Johnson, he's made enough to last 12 lifetimes very comfortably
