He was definitely fighting it tonight. Saw him lose the puck a few times without anyone around him. It was really the first game all year when he didn't look like the best player on the ice.
- PhillySportsGuy

yep. and i'm ok with that. the other guys have to pick up the slack and contribute on the board. if they don't, they lose. they didn't and they lost. again.

I actually thought Coburn played pretty well up until that late game blunder

seriously, i cant even get excited about a top 5 pick until hextall lives down that umberger trade... flyers gms are close to fullfing their goal of making this team an all out pile of poop....
- JoeRussomanno

Hexy needs to make a trade just so we can get the stench of his first trade out of our minds.

they weren't good either. i did not see a team desperate for a win. i saw a team play an ok road game against another mediocre/poor team that played an ok home game. and they found a way to blow it, wasting another gem of a game from their goalie.
- hammarby31

Pretty much.

I agree. It's frustrating that they can't generate anything at ES without Giroux and Voracek. It's difficult to win on the road without any depth scoring. I bet there wasn't one shift where G and Jake didn't see Braun and Vlasic.

I thought it was a fairly evenly played game. On most nights, the top line is going to be better. It's rare when they don't pot one on the PP or at ES.

Thats exactly what I saw. Whether they actually won the game or not after playing 59 mins meant very little

not including prospects on the team, i dont know how he really mortgages the future outside of giroux, voracek and mason at this point... i mean really considering what the future really is: stinking for 2-5 years he might as well shop those three too andgo full rebuild, i dont know maybe im just too disgusted to think straight, that last goal was just soul churning

it's not hard to raise the bar when compared to many of their poor efforts this year. they were better, but i didn't see a hungry team. not even close. 1 goal isn't good enough. they were ok on the back end, but i attribute that mostly to san jose not taking it to them. there were still a lot of mistakes in their own end, and tons of poopty passing to get out of the zone.

For this season, for what they're going through and where they are, that goal (frank)ing hurt

and i thought the passing out of the zone was several hundred percent improved

i cant believe coburn on that sequence... gets beat, then is so slow getting back not only can he not clean up the rebound, but flattens his goalie...

Missed the game due to work. Seems to be a common theme.

Have to say though, the apathy is building again.

im so beyond pissed, im right at the point of not caring, cant even look forward to a possible rebuild by picking up a high draft pick cause we'll probably pick JVR's next linemate

This is the first game of the 2014-15 season where the Flyers scored a goal and Jake Voracek didn't have a point
