Hell, I've done worse watching my friends play. I once challenged an entire team to fight me in the parking lot after a game from the stands. No one took my 145-pound self up on it. I also once fired a slap shot at a group of parents who were riding me for destroying one of the other team's players.

Emailing myself at home. I'll see what our schedule is, if any, and hope to make it. I played a lot of games the Class of '23 rink. It'd be nice to watch a game there without a broken collarbone this time.

My lil bro just got the Gdub with 3 minutes left against Cumberland Valley
- Giroux_Is_God

My son just got ejected and suspended in his last varsity game 2 minutes in. That's completely new.

Congrats to your brother.

GWWs come and go. Managing an incensed crowd of high school kids and parents who want to lynch your kid is a completely different feeling.

Chipotle or Qdoba or both?

I've chosen choice C before. Would recommend, but at the same time, would not recommend.

Good stuff there...I bet right after it was done you guys felt pretty good trying to hold your own!

I'll say that 4 of us did pretty well, one dude was busy yelling "I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" while this fat Puerto Rican chased him around. Yes, that really happened.

Long story short, I gave a dude a shot, he took a 2-handed baseball swing at my head (a grown man versus a 15-year-old) and my friend came out looking for blood. Dude said, "What are you gonna do?" so my friend beat the piss out of him, then started on another dude and just got piled on to. I ended up more or less fighting 2 guys. Thing is, we were so much better skaters than them that we could actually handle ourselves okay. But still, at a certain point...

My parents were so mild mannered at games. I can't imagine them doing anything like this. Lol

My wife is aghast.

When you consider that crap that goes on at the club level and even on the school teams after 12 years/50-60 games per that's not a big list.

I guess it's really tough if it's your kid. I once got speared in the throat and my dad offered the ref a $50 if he'd call a penalty for us (why my dad had a $50, I don't know).

There was also an incident where my 15-16 year old team was playing in a men's league. Due to poor scheduling, we had 5 players and my 320-pound kickboxer friend playing against this team from Philly. Long story short, it ended up being 20 men versus 5 kids and my friend in an all-out brawl (we fared pretty well, given the circumstances). That's a whole different story in itself. But my dad contacted the comissioner and told him that if the entire team was not banned, he was coming to their next game with 50 guys with baseball bats and they were going to win. The team was suspended indefinitely at that point.

I envisioned this last paragraph in comics form, drawn by Jack Kirby.

Poopties. Now we know how the NHL came to rely solely on shootouts.

It happens way more in hockey and football than other sports. I've actually never been in a sports related fight other than pushing and shoving with close friends. I've never really been in any legit fight

Don't know if anyone answered this previously but is Hagg WJC eligible? If so, I hope the Flyers allow him to play

Times change... I got in fights weekly/monthly starting about 5th grade until I was about 26.

I feel you on that last part.

Who does the Vice Mayor of Angry Town play for, if you don't mind me asking? You don't have to answer if you don't want to!

My son's played for 12 seasons. Those are the ones that stuck out.

If that's it for 12 years, that's damn good. I'd have lost my poop in the situations you described, and maybe even a few more than that.

Tier II he started in Reading, moved to Valley Forge and this year he's playing Major Midgets with the Quakers in West Chester. He plays Varsity for Downingtown West.

He likes to be called jr moat.

I was in one. Kid decked my teammate after the whistle just for coasting near the goalie. Separated his shoulder.

I was at the top of the circles, bee-lined in, crosschecked him right in the ribs, 2 handed the back of his knees, and grabbed his throat. At this point, other kids came flying in along with refs. We ended up falling and throwing half assed gloves on punches at each other on the ice. None really connected either way- plus we had cages on.

We both got 5 and 10s.

Kid had a good 6" on me too.

It was. Doesn't help during back ground checks either.
