it had to be done. As frustrating as it's been watching him trot 40 out there every night, it is understandable. At this point, you can't keep shuttling him around the line up and having him sulk whatever line he's on down, not with the decisive stretch ahead.
- BulliesPhan87

even with his "great" shot he managed to bring down the 5 on 3 unit

best thing he has done this year is two beautiful assists when he was stationary near the circle, drew the D towards him by standing still with the puck, and made the nice pass

it is beyond time for this

He was playing better before he got hurt than he has in the past several games. Just like Coburn, he has struggled after missing a month with a leg injury.
- Feanor

MacDonald got hurt; I'm withholding judgment for now

If Berube scratches him, that's his call. But I have no way of knowing how much he was hurt and the injury affected him, and he only got back recently

I like these lines:

10-28-24
12-14-93
78-49-17
36-76/40-18/40

Also, why does the page keep stretching?

I'd take him over Berube.

I'd wait that one out -- gotta take a swing at McClellan, if he gets the hook in SJ

Because its muscles are tight?

But seriously, I think I might switch 17 and 24 but overall I like the cut of your line making jib.

I wrestled with switching 17 and 24 and probably would have if I wasn't distracted by the dang page stretching.

I think Bylsma has a system similar to Lavi.

I don't know if that would be the right move. I think he would look at Babcock if available. Stevens in LA. Guys that have a similiar system to what detroit and LA run.

How about poaching Steve Spott from TML?

I'm not as familiar with him, but I'm all for opening it up if Chief gets the gate

And I really do mean "if," because I really am on the fence about Berube

He's been dealt a short deck with the roster. I don't mind his systems. He needed to do what he's done today, and now that it's done, let's see how they play

I think Hextall could do something to help Berube by making a smaller deal to help the depth -- Berube's only gonna be so good with the roster as it is. It's not all on him, and I've never been a believer that you gas the coach because of the roster

If the Wings resign Babcock i would go right after Jeff Blashill of the Griffins.

In all honesty, would you guys rather have VLC or VDV in as the 4C?

Truthfully, the answer is neither -- that's where I feel Hextall has to make a smaller deal.

It's a two-part process. You have to scratch unproductive players, then find affordable upgrades

You think there is any chance in hell that you could move Vinnyand say a pick to TOR for Kadri. They seem to be tired of him and wanting to move him and Toronto could probably use a big center. Maybe they think Vinny could help in TOR with leaderhip and secondary scoring.

Just wishfull thinking i guess.

"I can't even tell you by watching Vinny Lecavalier the past week that he's even out on the ice," Boruk said. "I don't know what he's doing, quite frankly."

Probably the most dead on Boruk's ever been.

ah yes the good old days when the biggest problem was the 4th line winger that plays 6 minutes a night.....hopefully we are back to debating him soon...

I much preferred the knotted underwear that occurred when people saw the Winter Classic Alumni Game roster.

Why does it have to be one or the other? VDV isn't an NHL player. The guy couldn't stick on a brutal Oilers roster, why is he playing here?
