Taylor Hall is a very good player if he wasn't constantly injured. - Pecafan Fan
No question about Hall... but they clearly didn't make the best choices with their other first overall.
McDavid sounds like a player that simply couldn't fail.... |

or a whole lot of players that are too much alike...
I don't know, but I think the whole organisation needs a huge shakeup. Lowe and MacTavish out. I mean, start for scratch with new blood.
Maybe a lack of leadership inside the room? Coach is probably a problem as well, he seems socially impaired, and mustn't transpose very well in the locker room.
Oh yeah, maybe naming mister "Finger got stuck" captain wasn't the greatest decision in the world. - stinger67

Yakupov was a no-brainer.

their biggest problem is that they don't have good hockey players. people talk about the first rounders. OK. Hall, RNH, Yakupov. even add in Eberle though he wasn't high. what else is there? what great trades or signings have they made? what second and third round gems have they unearthed? they've drafted terribly, sign mediocre free agents and they acquire goalies the way baseball teams acquire utility players. |

I believe it's more a testimony of how poorly the Flyers are managed at the moment.
Obviously Lecavalier isn't the player he once was... but he's not as bad as R.J. Umberger, who stays in the lineup no matter what. |

Yakupov beat Stamkos at the same age. He was can't miss. His first season he leads the Oilers in goal scoring at 18-19 and leads rookies in scoring, also near a PPG in the KHL...then he met Eakins. Now he's done. |

The 2014 first overall pick won't be happy about it. Per Josh, the first overall pick in 2014. |
