I don't know. I think he falls kind of in between the two. I don't see Brown or Backes as players that make the others around them better. But Bergeron does that, and if what's happened to Ennis and Moulson the last few weeks is any indication, so does Girgs.

As far as the intelligence thing, Girgs is smart and he's tenacious. That's the one aspect of Reinhart's game that I think needs some work. He's smart, but I think his sense of urgency could be better. It should come with time. I think a big part of what we saw was just a level of discomfort when he was here. But we never really saw that out of Girgs. He just seems to make things work for him. He doesn't sit around and wait for them to start working.

I've actually said that I think the player that Girgs resembles most to me is Peca. I think he'll put up similar numbers and he plays the same type of physical game.

- HonkFortheGoose

I'm not sure that Girgensons is necessarily making Ennis or Moulson any better. I just think that line as a whole is really good.

Ennis was producing before the change. So was Girgs, I just think we finally have our three best forwards together

True, but with Reinhart, Grigs, Girgs, Armia, Ennis + 2 more 1st and 2nd rounders (we could trade the picks though), add in the depth (Baptiste, Bailey, Compher, Fashing, Lemieux, Possler ect.) and we would still have a good offense to go with what would probably be the best D group in the league.

If we really needed to, I would imagine we could get something decent from any combination of the two 1st/2nd round picks and some of the other prospects.

Agreed, I'm just saying should Murray feel like we need an upgrade, adding Hanifin gives him the luxury of dealing one of those guys if he's currently reluctant to do so.

Ennis was producing, but he's producing more with Girgs and is playing a better all around game. That's Girgs rubbing off on him.

Its Girgs possession game. How often do you see him work the boards with the puck and dish to Moulson or Ennis, or draw two defenders while still being able to get the puck to the open man?

I've been impressed with his development. We saw glimpses last year, and hes putting it all together this year with consistency. I love it.

They just are all good players. Ennis has always been this good.

Let's put it this way, Girgensons is better than Drew Stafford.

But labeling him someone that makes players around him better is a premature label.

That's how guys like Crosby and Stamkos are viewed

They should have kept him.

Saying that Seguin didn't "fit the Bruins model" is arrogance on their part.

Reilly Smith is good, Loui Eriksson healthy is good. Tyler Seguin is great.

They thought they could repeat the success of trading Phil Kessel, and a year later they are now struggling.

I bet they wish they had Seguin with Krecji being banged up

- sbroads24

They're struggling bcs their defense is a mess. Bruins play a team game. Seguin didnt mesh and was about the party not the team thats why he was traded.

They are also 21st in the NHL in scoring.

They're leading goal scorer has 5 goals.

Tyler Seguin leads the NHL with 18

They actually are 11th in goals against.

Their offense is worse than their defense

You run into big, big problems if you're a GM that trades massively talented 20-22 year old players because they like to party.

When said players show up banged up for stanley cup playoff/final games it becomes a little more warranted.

Their defense was a big part of their offense. Missing a booming shot from the point takes away from the offense.

I'm pretty sure no one ever said he's worthless. However I think it's pretty funny if you think Boychuk is the reason the Bruins are struggling to score but dismiss them trading a 21 year old super star

Im not dismissing it at all. It wasnt a good trade as far as value goes but missing an elite defenseman in chara is also likely a big reason why they struggled. They will be fine once they get healthy imo. Missing Seguin although he would have helped is not going to stop that team.

Wouldn't you agree as a fan of a team that struggled for so long that it takes a certain amount of arrogance by Chiarelli to move Seguin because of him being immature?

If I were a fan id be pissed

Id be upset by the move. With that said id also have a little more faith in a GM that built a stanley cup team and one of the most competitive ones in a number of years. Chiarelli probably thought the bruins would be fine without Seguin and I agree with him. The return to me was terrible and to me was his biggest misstep if he couldn't find a happy medium with the kid. The question is could the team have been better with Seguin? Thats not always discernible by looking at point totals. The team first mentality the bruins live by reminds me of the devils and for better or worse it seems to work.

not surprised at all, crosby's a cowardly little douchebag, he's only tough when it comes to swinging his stick at someone from behind.
