The difference in their cap hit makes the trade value a lot closer.

I just can't see these happening.

Taylor Hall they'd want Giroux so non starter.

BSchenn for Perron, don't like this for the Flyers.

Couts + for Eberle is the closest of the three to reality, depending on the plus.

- Marc D

Hopefully Luke Schenn...but more realistic is Coburn....honestly if they could do The Schenn's and Read for Eberle and Schultz....the Flyers would be lucky.

Woah, anyone see everyone's favorite writer Randy Miller's 3 Flyers blockbuster trades to save the season?

1. Matt Read for Adam Larsson
2. Brayden Schenn, Luke Schenn, and Robert Hagg for David Perron and Justin Schultz
3. Braydon Coburn to LA for cap space and a draft pick, perhaps a 2015 2nd rounder

This should get interesting...

Well you've been shutout 3 times in the past 4 games so maybe you should start valuing them more?

I think you guys might overrate Coots. He's a shutdown center and not much more.
- rangerdanger94

I think people forget how young he is. I think he can eventually contribute 15 goals maybe 50 pts. Also, I think we need a shutdown centre. We trade for Eberle and have score more goals but have no way to stop or even slow anyone down. As you know you can't have a forward corps made up of all offensive guys..

It's not sarcasm. As bad as we are, you want to trade maybe our only legit top 4 d man? I'd love to see a d where we've got two 5 6 slotted guys as our top pair. Problem isn't that Coburn blows. It's that with losing pronger timonen Carle in recent years. Everyone is slotted two spots higher than they can handle. It's a mess and I can't see it getting better with dumping Coburn.
- Hextall271

I understand your reasoning but what im saying is everyone except mjl has come to the undeniable conclusion that this team sucks and has 000000 chance at winning. we willb e close to a lottery pick and everyone understands that the future d prospects are our start to a rebuild. so wo what im saying is trading Coburn and worring what our d currently looks like means nothing. same goes with every roster player outside of g,checky, coots, bschenn, laughton. if one of those are traded we need to get someone to go in hexy plan for the future. come trade deadline trade we should unload all the lschenn,read,umberger,etc... that we can. do it now if possible. im just sooo sick and tired of watching this poop team lose to back up goalies and making them look like all-stars. oh and cant win a f'ng shoot-out!really same predictable crap game after game year after year. sorry for the rant but I kniow ill be wasting 3 hours of my life from 1-4 p.m. today watching bums and then hearing about closed door meetings afterward.

If Umberger or Lacavalier had any pride, they'd retire. They are simply embarrassing themselves out there.

When Coburn starts playing like a top 4 then I would start worrying about it. Right now he isn't. We had much better results when he was out of the line up.

Nothing to do with the conversation of whether Couturier has shown any sign of being more then a 3rd line shutdown center. Off point again.

Goals aren't the only measure.
- MJL

If you think he is going to be your number 2 Center 13 goals is not a good starting point. Ranger just makes a good point about his potential and from what we have seen from him so far I think he will be a great 3rd line center in this league.

The team as a whole was playing much better when Coburn was out injured. Is that a factor, or is it due to Coburn?

Couturier is a good defensive player but you can get a guy like Dominic Moore or Brian Boyle to shutdown the opposing team's top players and play on the PK. If you can move Couturier now for an elite player and then fill his 3C/PK hole with a defensively responsible player in next year's FA class or through the draft then I think that you're a better team overall.

I saw Brandon Alderson in Reading last night, dont know if he is there on a conditioning assignment, punishment or to help. Looked like he took a lot of short shifts and was good, bad and seemingly indifferent at times. very strange

Wtf? How about you add some proof that Couturier has shown that he can be a lethal offensive threat for years to come instead of taking my posts and just dodging them by claiming they're off topic?

Couter, Coburn, and VLC for Shultz, Eberle, and Yakupov.
- section32

Omg, well then we'd have to win the odd game 6-5.. miss the playoffs by 40 pts. What people seem to forget is that successful playoff teams right now win by playing defense and with solid goaltending.,. yes they have to score, but the Edmonton model of keep drafting the best offensive talent on the board hasn't seemed to work because they've neglected the other end. That's why I've been baffled by their reluctance to trade O for some D in the form of defensive forwards or Dmen.

I don't think he's an elite offensive talent, but he's also being used as a shutdown guy. I think there is certainly value in good two way guys who can drive Malking/Crosby types bonkers will contributing some O.

Hall has a PPG rate of .91 for his career and is only 22.

Voracek has a PPG rate of .68 and is 25. He also benefits from playing next to Giroux, one of the top center in the league.

Hall is a more talented, younger, and better player.
