Fishsticks rid themselves of that sack of poop MacDonald and find themselves at the top of the NHL. Just a coincidence!

Flyers now 1 point ahead of Sabres. Embarrassing.

- PLindbergh31

Sabres certainly have it all over us in the coaching dept.

Along with the prospect department and the stockpiling of draft picks department.

Thats not always the case. Teams just shouldn't rely on other teams to do their scouting for them. They can't just assume a top pairing defenseman on another team is a great player.
- PhillySportsGuy

Yeah, and pay them like a top player to boot.

Chief might deserve some blame for this wreck of a team, but the players are the ones playing if you call it that and putting the poop effort out.

My feelings exactly

Is it me, or has his only trait (shot-blocking) that he ever registered at a top-28 level dropped like a stone since the trade, too? Went from 3-4 blocks per game on the Island, down to 1-2 per game here.

There is no doubt in my mind that Scotty Bowman would have a hard time winning with this poopty roster, but Berube still needs to be held accountable for some awful decisions.

Anyone with eyes can clearly see that VLC and Umberger have been, BY FAR, their 2 worst forwards, but hey, what the hell, lets scratch Bellemare. Also, no matter how many bad penalties he takes, Rinaldo never seems to pay any price for his stupidity.

Accountability, my ass!

Absolutely. There's not one poster who has said Berube alone is why they have sucked. They have, maybe 4 or 5 guys playing at an acceptable level.

Yeah, his overall game has been one big bucket of poop. He's a 4/5 guy, that we are paying 2/3 money for. Well done, Homer.

This season he has 17 in 12 games. That's below Schultz, Del Zotto and at the same rate as Grossmann has been blocking shots. But the numbers are similar across the board on a per game basis:

Schultz 2.1 per game
MDZ 1.6
Grossmann & Amac 1.4
Schenn 1.3
Streit 1.2
Coburn 1

Who besides G and Jake would play top 6 minutes on any other team with the way they are playing? The awfulness that is on display is unreal. For a collection of professional athletes to be playing and putting the lack of effort in is unforgivable.

I was just trying to point out how unbelievable it is how badly this team is playing. They should Have to forfeit their salaries.

It'd be nice if they could cut players, like the NFL does. I'd say only Giroux, Voracek, B. Schenn, Streit and Mason are close to earning their money of late, maybe Simmonds and Emery, too. Laughton has been a breath of fresh air since his recall

Yeah, pretty much. Though with what they are paying them, I'd add Raffl, Schultz, and MDZ to the list as well.

Boedker is twice the player Matt Read is and the Yotes are certainly not interested in Read, actually I don't even think the Yotes are looking to trade #89 Boedker. Just an EK rumor on a quiet day.
- flyerdude17

No he's not. He may be a more dynamic player offensively. But he's not a better player then Matt Read is.

Holmgren has built up the prospect pool tremendously. Lower levels are stocked with talent.
- PLindbergh31

The goalie in question was signed this year as one of two contracts to swing from the E to the A when callups occurred. I cant blame Holmgren for this, the guy is not a prospect.
Hextall did not do a good job on this with the goalies, pretty ironic
