You're not taking into consideration how the player is used and the situations he plays in. Look at his ES point total last year. It's 2nd line center level.

Do you honestly think that at 21 years old Couturier or any player is what he is?

- MJL

Nope , I think a player can improve I just haven't seen anything about Couturier that makes him untouchable as part of a package to land a number 1 dman or legit number 1 scoring winger.

I know we disagree on that last part but you could make a case for either side of that argument.

Just wondering, do you think taking into account how the player was used and the situations he played in factors into Akeson's performance this season vs. last? Also, do you think that, at 20 NHL games played, that he is what he is?

No actually you need to take off orange colored glasses....Eberle is a player that makes others around him better...Schenn is a very good young player but not in Eberle's class....Schultz has the talent to be a number one....had he played to his potential, he wouldn't be available .....Funny how cap hits don't matter when u argue for a plug like Vinny ? What's he on pace for this year ?
- landros 2

The numbers say that Schenn is in Eberle's class this year. You're mistaken in saying that cap hits don't matter when discussing Lecavalier or any player. You're just making things up there.

Schultz is a train wreck defensively. He's not going to be a #1.

Akeson has had plenty of opportunity. It's yet to be determined how Akeson's career pans out.

I would trade Couturier for a #1 defenseman, but not for a winger.

If only Schultz could aspire to be like healthy scratches Ronald MacDonald, and Luke Sloth.

Rinaldo took two offensive zone penalties yesterday, he's playing, and Bellamare isn't.

This (frank)ing coach is completely clueless. He's really holding players accountable.

I actually agree with MJL on this one. I wouldn't trade Schenn for Eberle.

1) 6 million for Eberle vs. 2.5 million for Schenn is a huge difference. It would put this team even more in cap Hell.

2) Eberle is a much better player career-wise for sure. I'm not sure if Schenn will be a 75 point guy, but he still has upside in his stats and will close the gap a bit.

3) Eberle plays primarily on the right side. We really need a natural LW with Simmonds and Vorachek.

I would be interested in Hall, but don't think they would trade him. All in all Edmonton - Philly probably doesn't match up well.

That goal is on Couturier..The puck was bouncing like crazy on Coburn, no excuse for our defensive gem to not clear that puck..

You argued high and low for Vinny last year....lol.....speaking of train wrecks...nice play on the PK by couturier there....all theses guys are struggling...have you even seen Eberle play? It's almost like you don't know the player...

No one will trade a number 1, and definitely not for Couturier. That's just a reality. You have to bank on Sanheim or Morin being their #1. Then you built out from there.

They flat out need a dynamic LW to give them 2 legit lines. I don't trade Couts or any other young player just to make a deal. But...if I could get a Hall type player for a package of Couts and Coburn, maybe with a lower tier prospect like Straka, I'd do it.
