It isn't Dion or Franson with the puck...it's a guy who can actually skate - is mobile, can beat a guy, who won't panic with the puck, can feather perfect passes, change angles, move down the wall if he wants or needs to, and can shoot. Sure, not a one timer, but how many of those do you see from this team right now.

Plus, if the puck does get buy Kessel, his transition is one heck of a lot better than the other two....my money is on him chasing a guy down.

Kessel could use the room out there.

When Ashton is waived or Smith is sent down, they can keep him on the roster for when all the road games are coming up in late December, if he is fully healed up after the AHL stint. He might be good to have already there instead of having to get Leivo up on the road.
