This year he is paired with downie and Spaling, bennet, megna and has 11 points in 21 games. Makes a little more sense now that he has decent wingers, think what he can do with actual top 6 guys.

THIS. (frank) if you need to add more from the Oilers side to equal value you can but the Oilers are not trading away players for the sake of changing the name bars on jerseys. We are trading for NEED. We NEED a 2C, probably 2 top pairing dmen and IMO a starting Goalie. If the trade offer is filled with "this guy should be one, one day." then we will dismiss it.

Lehner is definitely a goalie would should be hard after imo.

But those younger, unproven goalie types with high ceilings go for prospects and picks as a general rule.

I'm sure people will say we should buck the trend cause we're the oilers of course. But I wouldn't see that as logical.

Lehner is a good young goalie who is dying to be a starter somewhere, and Zach Smith is a decent 2 way centre.
