You don't have to be an elite team to make the playoffs. And you also don't have to be an elite team to play better hockey then the team currently is. You're confused on what statements are being made here. Neither I or Ron Hextall have said that this team's roster is elite, or that moves don;t need to be made, to get this team to the level of a contender. All that I've said is that this team is better then it is playing right now, and should be. And that if they get their act together, they can make the playoffs. So where exactly are you getting "elite" from any of that?

So in a league where more than 50% of the teams make the playoffs, getting into the playoffs is a great accomplishment? Is that where Flyers fans expectations should be lowered to, just getting in? I don't know why this fan base is so fervent in their defense of mediocrity.

Where did I say it's a great accomplishment? What it is, is simply what I think this team is capable of, and what I think should be expected of them. You keep going off on these tangents and injecting things that aren't being said. And nobody is defending anything. Stating that this team should be playing better then they are, is actually a criticism. Not enough hyperbole in that for you?
