You mean like 6 or 7 other players on this team right now?
it's okay though..you focus on him because Rinaldo is whats wrong with the team.

First its goaltending, then D, now fourth line guys who play 8 or 9 minutes per game.

1-0 loss....5-2 loss....3-0 loss....offence seems to have disappeared except for 2 guys!!! And this is after a players meeting?!? What were they discussing??? What's wrong with Simmonds???I didn't get to watch today, but where is the physical game???

Talbot is decent but is he that good? How good is Hank gonna be tomorrow at home after getting lit up by t-bay for the second time in a week????

These boys are gonna have a tougher time scoring tomorrow having to deal with lundqvist and matchups!!!

I remember reading about the flyers showing interest in Richards. I'm not a huge fan of what he allegedly did to get shipped out, but the guys a winner. VLC for richards? Umberger for Richards? At least he cares!

Move both Schenn's to Edmonton and Coburn as well. Take Yaks, Eberle and Schultz....this would be an improvement...there's no way Schenn continues this 'pace' (Giroux and Vorachek driven) in Edmonton and whoever plays with those two will pick up where he leaves off....

Something's gotta happen....anything...

Didn't see the game, but the reports don't sound great, and obviously the score says it all. But tomorrow is it. If they don't come out pissed off, as if their life depends on winning the game, then they're a dead team. Because if they can't, then, some kind of change needs to be made. And there's one change that is always made first.

I can see the press conference now

Ian Laperierre the next Philadelphia Flyers head coach.

"Ian has one of the sharpest hockey minds in the game, we have a great understanding of how hard this man works, he is a true Flyer that had his career cut short, this man has earned his opportunity and as an organization we couldn't be more happy with this promotion"

Didnt see the game but let me guess..

Couturier did nothing for yet another game. 3 years ago he shut Malkin down sort of in the playoffs but how dare anyone think of trading him.

Simmonds, Read, VL, Umb, PEB were useless like they have been all year.

The d was just bad enough to lose..

People will cry about the coach but at a certain point professional adults should be accountable for thier own performance.

What a joke..Something needs to,change and short of Giroux, Voracek and Mason everyone should be available if it helps the team..that includes the almighty Coots.

Don't know if that, "one change made first" is the remedy, but I see it happening sooner than later.

Who was in the box for philly during the rangers' first goal? I cant seem to remember... There are several problem areas with this team, Rinaldo is certaintly on the list..

But I get your trying to justify that Rinaldo jersey you just ordered

Thinking Terry Murray is interim coach?

I hate to be pessimistic, but I think tomorrow is going to be the same game we've watched them play against the Rangers for at least three years now. This is the nexus of terrible: back to back, Rangers, afternoon games.

You know what you Rinaldo haters are right..we need more soft players that dont hit or play physical. As I said in my last post, get rid of him right now and The Black Holes will all of the sudden do something useful.

God, how could they get ride of Akegretzky when he is just what we need.

Just goes to show that no matter what I wanted to believe, this team just isn't good enough

Hextall has to address these forwards. You can't tell me this team can somehow move forward with the last 4 forwards on the roster and be a contender

You have to get them off the roster, not wait until their contracts expire.

You have to actively get them off the roster

And a few of the turnovers were forwards behind the opposition's forecheck.
Just saying.

- puckhead17

I know your right. But when the Flyers had an effective forecheck going in the first period. The forwards were doing good work. The puck gets back to the point and nothing happens except a wild wide shot or one thats blocked. I'm getting tired of it. Mark Streit is our top Dman by a mile and I remember making fun of the isles because he was theirs while we were stomping them. It's just the way it is. You can't polish these turds!

the worst part is we have to watch the exact same game tomorrow at the same time

it's like Groundhog day, only awful

one definition of insanity

watching them play over and over and expecting something different

Rinaldo might not what is wrong with this team but him being on the team is what is wrong with the thinking of this organization. Rinaldo brings NOTHING to the game but yet when we are either down by a goal or the game is tied, he is till on the ice with 5 or 6 minutes to go in the 3rd period. And you bringing up Simmonds, Courtiere, VL Ect ect. are still the horrible decisions by Holmgren and now that is the core of this team and unfortuantly that is not a tomorrow fix. Replacing Rinaldo even it is with a crate of broken sticks is still better than having him on the ice.
- Daveflyers36

I didn't see the game today, but I saw he took two penalties today. That's not good. But for the majority of the season, he has kept his discipline. With all the things that are wrong with this team currently, Rinaldo is not one of them. He has had a solid season, and he's one of the few players that comes to play every game. And that has zero to do with the thinking of this organization. That's barking up the wrong tree. Rinaldo is not the problem with this current team.

Rinaldo needs to be the 13th/14th forward and I'm starting to wonder if an upgrade to Read might be necessary, because his track record has been good, but sometimes, guys lose it and you can't pretend they're going to be good enough for you to win championships

He hasn't been nearly good enough, by far

Laughton was a small bright spot

Coach moved Laughton and Raffl to the 2nd PP in the third, removed Couts and VLC

They can't cope with the Rangers team speed

Fundamentals are awful, passing and accepting a pass they largely could not accomplish today

Read showed signs of life early in the game I thought

Their top PP was god awful, Rangers pressure the top of the umbrella (G, Streit, and Jake) and it worked to perfection

That's all I have

Just watched the replays of the goals. Failed clear on the PK, although there wasn't much else MacDonald could do with that. Rangers keep it in, and Laughton drifted too far over, leaving a shooting lane for Boyle with traffic in front of Mason. PP goal. Laughton has played great since his call up, but that's a mistake there.
The St. Louis goal was just pathetic coverage. Mason does give up a juicy rebound, but there are 4 Flyers around the net to two Rangers. And St. Louis pots the rebound. That's just a lack of compete there, and it's brutal.
The shorthanded goal is equally brutal. 4 Flyers below the goal line with only two involved in the puck battle. If you're going down there then outnumber the opposition on the puck, not stand there and hope it comes to you. Rangers dig it out and a 3 on 1 shorthanded. Just brutal breakdown of fundamentals and work ethic there. This team is dysfunctional right now.

i really think moving the first 2 is a pretty tall order, to state the obvious.

read, his play is puzzling right now, but id be lying if i said i didnt still really want him. maybe its just my bias, but i dont think hed be difficult to move at all, depending on what you wished in the return.

Tomorrow's game will tell a lot about this team. If they don't respond, then that's a real bad sign. Sometimes a team has to go all the way to the bottom before they show signs of getting out of it.
