I don't mean to dump on spartini, like I said, I generally agree with almost all of his posts and I like reading them, I just get irked sometimes. - Isles_since_6
It gets a little tiring when you say(insert players name here) didn't have the best game or shouldn't have taken that stupid penalty or whatever when discussing what happened in last nights game and all of a sudden you have 5 people telling you not to jump off a ledge, stop being negative, don't you know we are winning?, and now, "go post somewhere else", etc. We are talking about the facking game. That's what this thread is for.
We aren't allowed to talk about riots in Ferguson so we are forced to talk about hockey on the HOCKEY THREAD!!!! |

No riots round here... Recently...
I'm gonna miss today's game, won't be home until late in the third so you guys are gonna have to pick out some negatives for me
This year is a lot of fun so far to watch, win or lose with this effort I can accept. |

That's why it's so funny. You've always been the glass half full kool aide guy and now that the team is seriously kicking ass you've been a little negative about some stuff. - Cptmjl
I want this team to stick it up everyone's keester so bad it is unbelievable. No one has ever given them any credit. Snow has been the joke of the league for 5 years but slowly the guy Stocked up on draft picks, prospects, wiaver wire and other guys with possible big upside. When the sht hit the fan wiht injuries he refused to trade any of them... it's nce to see the result working for once. Even last year when we lost players to injury in the 2 areas we could not afford it.. he refused to Change the plans. That One last year of hell for us will end up being the unbelievable depth they are talking about in years to come. Having this team.. the guys in B-port almost ready.. AND then Dal Cole, HoSang, etc. in the juniors will be insane. |

No, I really don't.. unless we have some really horrific injuries in one specific area. |

it does look promising for the long term future of the organization. I've been looking at detroit for a couple decades now and the long term success they've had has been amazing. I really hope we could sustain something even close to that.

I try to keep those kinds of thoughts out of my head. But sometimes the voices in my head make me have terrible thoughts and do bad things. |

Yeah. Why not? If they can keep up this sort of play there is not a team in the league they can't beat. The question is can they? I think there will be ups and downs the rest of the season but I also believe these guys once again know how to win and more importantly WANT to win. Unless they monumentally implode I'm expecting big things from this team. |

Ah....the nature of being an Islanders fan.
We can be great....but
I think we can do big things....unless
We can't be beat...but can we?
I think since most of us here have been Islanders fans for decades, it's been inherently bred in us to expect the other shoe to drop.
Say it with me....NOT THIS YEAR. NOT NEXT YEAR. This is the best I've felt as a fan of this team since the Cups, and, yes, I'm including the run we had in '93.
I just never feel like we panic. We exude calm. We stick up for each other. We have a boatload of talent up and down. We have guys you don't want to (frank) with. We have depth. I feel like, besides the Colorado game (which feels like eons ago) we're in every game and it's just a matter of time before we go up. It's a great feeling and, admittedly, one I'm not used to. |

Yeah. It could be that or it could be that there's 60 games left in the season?
I get it, I feel the same way you do but we'll probably have more highs with some lows here and there. That's hockey. How the team responds to those lows is what's important. So far so good and I haven't been this enthusiastic about a team since I was a kid. Like a really small kid in the early eighties |

Me too, man, me too.
There will be roadblocks and bumps in the road along the way, but for the first time in ages I feel we're actually equipped to deal with them. I'm not saying we're definitively gonna with the Cup, but I can finally (FINALLY) see us winning a playoff series. |

I have high hopes for this one with Hamill, Ford, and Fisher . Just wish Hamill, Ford, and Fisher were younger. Lucas should have done 3 more with the original cast instead of the prequels. |

Johnson in goal, strait in for boychuk - boychuk day to day with upper body injury, my guess is it's his upper back where he got shoved into the corner of the goal post and cross bar. |

couple of crazies as part of the cast should be interesting.
Ford is the only one who remained sane.

Should not be boring that is for sure. Ford being 72 may get wish in having Han be killed off in this one. He wanted Han to die in Jedi. |

still wondering why strait automatically gets into the lineup over donovan, especially after seeing them both dressed. Donovan was better than Strait...and at least Donovan can remain upright.

I agree. Rather have Donovan play. |
