Most of the time I agree with your posts but this isn’t one of them. None of us are negative about the team, what we are doing is looking at it objectively and seeing what could be better. This doesn’t mean we’re not enthusiastic and onboard, it means we’re not blind.

At 4-0 I was worried that our sloppy defensive play was going to cost us, over the next 7 games how did we do? I was ripped for being negative at that time but I was right.

Just because we see flaws doesn’t mean we’re not enjoying the hell out of the start this team has had. These kinds of posts where anyone making a critical comment is told to “take it elsewhere” piss me right off. Just because you want to be blindly loyal to the team doesn’t mean what others are posting is invalid. Take that entitled attitude and shove it.

***edit - look, I don't mean this to come across as harsh as it did, but it royally pisses me off when someone tells people they can't post if it's not positive. That kind of thing just gets under my skin and I don't have any patience for it. Everyone here loves this franchise and wants us to succeed, a critical comment doesn't lessen anyone's loyalty.

Well said. Its beginning to get impossible to have a conversation on here unless its talking about something an individual perceives as positive. No one is negative about anything but saying so and so had a bad shift in the third period doesnt mean youre a turn coat or ready to jump off the ledge the gross dramatic exaggeration the other way has become laughable on this thread lately. Saying JT doesnt look like his normal, dominant self is sacrilege. Now you are condemned to post on Dee's thread for a month!

ALL of us are ecstatic about the way this team is playing nobody thinks otherwise so the rainbow and butterfly crowd needs to take a pill WE ARE ALL HAPPY DAMN IT!!!

that's my point. there shouldn't be anything negative here. All the bad has been taken out. I wasn't posting to make a point. I love a lot of guys insights here. Why waste time on subjects that are irrelevant.

Who cares that Strait stinks, he isn't a starter. its like having discussion to how Corey Conacher is doing lately.

How about we just discuss that Strome is been on fire and huge possession guy. He is quietly racking up points every game.

Hopefully we keep this streak going. If you ask me if we didn't leave Ovechkin wide open on PP unmarket, we probably would have won 2-0 in regulation.

I'm very happy with JT over the last three games. He's looked a lot more like himself and that's not even looking at points. He's an absolute beast when he plays at that level and even when he's not scoring he generates a hell of a lot of chances when he's moving like he has been recently. The fourth line has really stepped up in the last week and is now looking like they should and our defense and Halak have been fantastic. I do expect Johnson to start today and hoping he'll settle down.

I dont want him there either.. but in the absence of a trade, he is the most logical to go back down.
Even if they waive Conacher, id rather have Lee in BP then sitting on the bench watching Gremlin play.

Its stupid to bench Lee just b/c grabner is back. when you winning every game , guess what you don't change a thing. if it aint broke, don't try to fix it.

Lee Strome nelson has been unbelievable line beyond just scoring. they spend 90% of their shift in Opposing team offensive zone. cant get scored on when you have puck in their zone.

Im loving we have so many games. but seems like they going to get tired with all these games.
Does anyone know who I net tonight, is it Halak or Johnson?

You're missing the point. There are areas we can be critical of and those are legitimate talking points. Whether or not you want to hear it is irrelevant to me. Telling me or anyone else not to bring it up is going to be met with the same response as earlier. It's a discussion, if you don't like it, don't read it.

I like to call those type of discussion as SPLITTING HAIRS. its like having a discussion that Equipment guy hasn't been doing a great job drying the gloves between periods.

Yes. It's splitting hairs to discuss what happened during a game on an islanders thread. Where do we talk about what happened during a game if you somehow find it trivial?

If the caps played better in their end, we probably would have lost 2-0 in regulation.. it works both ways.

say we bring up Johnson's play, he's been over playing the shooter, often leaving himself way out of position on rebounds and also allowing rebounds directly into dangerous areas rather than directing them to the corners. It's an observation that he's not playing at the same level he did in Boston, and well below the levels he should be. That's a concern - not ripping him as he's likely to get better, but it's a discussion point.

We all love the team - we're all thrilled with the start they've had, but part of being a rabid fan of a pro sports team is talking about just about everything to do with them. It's not splitting hairs, it's discussion. Like I said, I generally agree with your posts and I'm not trying to be harsh, but I'm not going to stop talking about things that I see with the team I feel are discussion points. I understand what you're saying but I think you're feeling anything negative means we're not supporting the team, which is incorrect.

I find it funny that forever I was the koolaide guy and ... told things like "You're snow appologist" .. "Bailey lover" ... and other doozies.. I have been wrong on my thoughts a lot on here too (A-mack .. yikes). The fact is I always try to see the positive stuff going on in the negative times.. and yeah when we are winning games I do still see where we need to improve. The fact that I think Strait playing 20 mins that game was absurd (and I still feel that way). Doesn't mean I am not extrememly happy with the team. It means that Strait had ample time to show you this year he is not capable of playing on this team (just like Colin Mcdonald), and unforrtunately our coach has shown the inability to see this and react to it. He should NEVER be an option. as a 7th/8th or otherwise.

Maybe I should change my avatar to Half empty.
