I am still trying to figure out the Hartnell/Umberger trade. Yeah, I know there is some cap benefit in a few years, since the Umberger contract is shorter, but until then there is no cap benefit. Their salaries are almost the same. Hartnell was one of the nastier Flyers to play against and I am glad they don't have him anymore.

I know of a Zack Sill supporter last year when he first broke into the league but none recent.

The fact that Adams is still on the roster and has been for a while underscores a long-standing bad situation with the WBS Pens - that their wing situation is bad and has been for a long time. Their current top three point getters (Ebbett, Megna, and Dea) are all centers and Pouliot is fourth. Fifth and sixth are the rookie rw Bryan Rust and rookie lw Scott Wilson, neither of whom are ready for the nhl nor capable of replacing Adams at this point (even if they were capable of replacing Adams it doesn't mean that they are necessarily ready for the nhl ). Aside from them the wing situation with the WBS Pens is really bad. The current highest scoring non-rookie winger they have is Tom Kostopoulos (2 g and 3 a in 17 games), someone who makes Adams look really good.

Also, I give the "Turkey of the Decade" award to Bryz .

Yeah, Spezza is a nice playmaker... Maybe their styles don't mesh or whatever... Did they play together in Ottawa?

Anyway, I'm not taking a chance on that with 2 more years at $4 mil. Last year as a rental, I was ok with it, but not with his deal now.

They played 18 games together in Ott and were playing well together. Nothing lights out but better than Hemsky scoring 20 points.

Hemsky has a nice skill set, but he loves to play the passer. He needs to be with either Seguin or Benn because he is unwilling to shoot himself. He'll go through five options before shooting.

A deal will open up at some point. Until then, I'm not averse to picking up Setoguchi. He's been in the role before. If he keeps a simple game up, then he could help us for a really decent price. If not, it's not a big loss.
