Gotta put a claim in for Setoguchi, right? Not sure he would make it to the Pens, but it's zero risk, and a little possible reward. - rival22
I'm not sure how you can't at this point. He isn't that bad, he wasn't that bad. He is a year removed from adequate production and he is only making 700K. That adds up to one sweet and simple pickup without losing anything.
Pull the trigger on this one. |

We need a heart & soul guy that's why I mentioned Richards in here despite his long contract. Bring a couple of top 6 hard working (not floaters) players and we instantly become more dangerous.
Yes for a try on Setoguchi #61
I want to know more about Tlusty's style. Can he grind? Is he responsible on his own end? Can he play in front of the net and work for garbage goals? How about his speed?..... |

Dupuis-light. Good wheels. Ok hands. Kills penalties. Showed some good chemistry with Semin/Staal. Can play with skilled players and not drag them down. |

I've always only seen his point totals and not too much of his actual play. What kind of game does he play? - drummer829
Two-way, simple game that isn't afraid to get dirty in the corners. Think Simon Gagne without the ridiculous shot. |

A top six talent with a bottom six mentality? That isn't easy to get. The key is getting them before they fade, Richie has unfortunately faded. The guy you probably would like most is Foligno, but that overpayment would be huge. |

He's not the kind of guy that's going to stand in front of the net and bang away, but he'll battle in the corners and is defensively responsible. Basically he goes to the open areas with his stick on the ice, fetches the puck from the corners, and makes sure he's not doing anything out there that might hurt the club. He doesn't cheat anywhere on the ice. |

I like what I hear from him. He's exactly the type of player we could plug and play. Thanks for the info! Go get him Pens..
Anyone knows If Setoguchi can skate/play a two way game? He seems to be falling out of favour with every team he goes to.
He strikes me as a Kobasew type.. |

He is a clear upgrade over Sill and makes 700K, so he fits. Scored 11 goals just a season ago. He cannot be all that bad. |

How can a player go from a "little sniper" to a waivers guy? Conditioning, off ice problems...I don't know what's the deal with him. |

Not if he can't put up 30 with Spezza. |

So a defensively responsible player with skill to play with top players. Honestly, if he were to be on a line with sid and horn, horn is your guy who goes to the front of the net, so tlusty just needs to get open and win board battles. Kunitz looks like he did well with malkin.

He has wheels... Until last year he was a consistent 20 goal guy (some prorated seasons there), so he has to have ok hands.
Maybe he's one of those guys short or dedication or putting the work in? No idea.. But for $750k, why not try it out? Worst comes to worst in a month you waive him again and he's someone else's problem or can put up points in Wilkes-Barre. |

Yeah, Spezza is a nice playmaker... Maybe their styles don't mesh or whatever... Did they play together in Ottawa?
Anyway, I'm not taking a chance on that with 2 more years at $4 mil. Last year as a rental, I was ok with it, but not with his deal now. |

Actually I was thinking about Tlusty for Geno...how come Sid always have the best wingers for him? (there is a guy here who hates Geno and always says he gets the best wingers) |

Nope your the first! Very nice.
Im considering changing my Groucho avatar for Jags with his Hitler
tape from the classic he played with Philly, but I just don't want my monitor to smell like poope every time I log on.
