It's not the first time it's happened either - SpoiledByOil
I thought I've heard similar stuff coming out of Edmonton before that's why I'm asking. Kind of like when Roloson made his "country club" comment to the press when referring to the islanders and he was gone shortly after and traded for shat. i was not a happy camper. |

Why can't we alwasy agree like this?
Perron has the best trade value. Sure, Eberle or Yakupov may make more sense (to a certain degree), Perron would most likely bring in the best return for what the Oilers need. It'll suck losing Perron, but preventing Arco/LD from being the 2C and 3C would be a much needed upgrade.
Maybe LD is shifted to wing in Perron's spot and is able to flourish with having reduced defensive requirements. - ChetManly
I don't know why we can't I'm sure we will find something to disagree with soon
I was actually thinking about the LD situation... He is a big skilled center who is young and probably should be in the AHL and defintelly not junior ...if you trade Perron for a 2C than you can move LD to the wing ...for now ...the flames did this with colborne, and semi did it with Monahan ...and I like the results ...gives the kids less resoonsibility and lets them just use their skill
I would even split up the big line and have hall play on the 2nd line |

He's kind of a cocky a$$hat too. Not sure he would help the group get back on track. In fact I think kadri could be had for less than Perron. - SmielmaN
I think the former Eakin's players experiment is over. |

There is no way that Eberle is going to get you Shattenkirk and Berglund. I could just as easily have stopped at "There is no way that Eberle is going to get you Shattenkirk."
I would argue that Shattenkirk's value is approaching Eberle's at this point, and the Blues would need something back in the deal to fill Shattenkirk's void. The Blues are in no hurry to make any deal, and I would say that Shattenkirk is probably in the Top 5 of untouchables in the Blues system.
That said, I think a bigger deal like the Hall + Schultz for Pietrangelo + Berglund + prospect (Jaskin?) suggestion I made yesterday would be more palatable at this point. We've got two guys in Schwartz and Tarasenko that may be as good as (or better than) Eberle by year's end. We have no one on our roster that is as good as Hall. A good deal for the "buyer" has to fill a need without creating one. - bluenatic411
I guess that's where we disagree. We have very few chips of value and we were to use Eberle to get a D man I wouldn't want Shattenkirk alone.i don't hate your Hall + for Pitrangelo + trade either tho.

For the oilers sake I would avoid any and all players/personnel from the Leafs organization lol. Not exactly a quality run business haha |

I can see LD being sent back at the 40 game mark, and hopefully being lent out for the WJC.
But yes, if we get a 2C, I think LD being moved to LW (Perron's spot) would be helpful for him. Montreal has done it with Galchenyuk. You've had success with two of your guys as stated. I don't see why it would be a bad thing.
It also allows Arcobello to be a proper 3C. |

Perron-Nuge-Ebs
Hall-Arco-Yakupov
Pouliot-Drai-Purcell
Hendricks-Gordon-Joensuu

That would be an awful trade IMO.
Isn't Perron one of the only ones who gives a crap?
Why trade him? - Byfuglien Ate Me

I would take Franson over Jultz. Holland looks like a potentionally great 3C. But, I agree for the most part. |

Don't see how Purcell and Pouliot should be affecting Perrons minutes. Just bad player management again, IMO, just it's the norm i guess. No one seems to have a problem with player usage but me |

I'll admit I don't know much about anisomov except that I couldn't sell his rookie cards for very much, but I would think there may be backlash for trading a gritty Canadian for Russian of limited talent in a place like edmonton. Like if the Habs trade DD, actual fans would say "awesome, get chucky in the #1C spot" but other fans would say "we have no french players.". Just a hot topic amongst fans from certain geographical areas. I could be wrong. I've onlyreally visited calgary many times lol. |

agree to disagree.
I also don't see how Jultz should be affecting Fayne's minutes, but that's happening as well. |

so basically a whole new team except the core? - SpoiledByOil
I think the core is more or less the issue. Is it just me or there something in our culture that sorta puts those 4 (Hall, Nuge, Ebs, Schultz) on some sort of pedastal?
It seems to me that the Oilers are more concerned with keeping those guys happy than they are in making them better team mates, 2 way players, accountable, etc...
When I see pics on Twitter it's always those 4 hanging out.
Ebs doesn't seem to get much poop for his spotty defensive play, and Schultz obviously is allowed to be poopty with no impact to his ice time.
Why is this? |
