If somehow Jagr is playing next year, do you think MacT puts a bid on him, and if you guys were Mact, would you?
I mean he has it all (maybe except for speed lol)
Grit, Strength, he can still score and he is a veteran to the game. - Oilers4Life14
(frank) no. Plus he wouldn't come here |

Or maybe LD is sent back to juniors/Europe to play out the rest of the year thus limiting his exposure to the derpacolypse that is the Oilers. - oranje_blue91
I'm thinking he will be sent back before the 40 game mark. I really hope he is lent out for the WJC. |

Do you believe that lengths of contracts affect trade value? - SpoiledByOil
Yes, but I believe cap hit is more important in this age. |

Depends. Some teams find a shorter deal more appealing if they know they have some ELC's expiring at the same time. Plus there is always the 'right now' mentality teams often employ, and if a team doesn't have the space or wants to save the extra 2 million for the TDL then Perron > Ebs. |

Jesus Christ you are a sensationalistic bastard ain't ya?
He's being shopped because other teams like the player and the contract. He has value and no one wants our poop.
Having said that I think there is a devide or clique in the Oilers dressing room and I don't think accountability is consistant. So I would like to see 2 of Hall, Nuge, Eberle and Schultz sent packing before Perron. - Jeropotato
This is why I don't like most Oiler trade ideas. I get that something has to change, but the only one in that group that I would want to trade is Schultz.
I just don't think you get fair value right now for Eberle, Nuge or Hall. I would also like to see them under a different coach, a decent goalie and some better D-men... which may be coming if they wait a couple years?
I dunno, I think I would make a bad GM because I am afraid to make a mistake.

You could be right, hard not to have that thought in the back of your head though - SpoiledByOil
Knowing nothing about anything pretty much in reference to your team you got my vote. There are other players with more value on your team IMO. If it's truly about the "return" than that argument doesn't really hold much water due to what I just stated. It looks like too much of a coincidence but I'm someone who doesn't believe in coincidence 99% of the time. Coincidence is a cover for something else. I know this after being an Islander fan for forty years. |

Kadri for Perron + 2nd? - HealthyScratch6
Kadri+2nd for Perron. Fixed it.
Also, this rumor floating around in the msg boards about Hall wanting out, is this true and do we have any kind of source? |

Makes sense for the Oilers for Perron = Kadri, but doesn't make sense for the Leafs. |

I think Eberle will still get you a much more significant package than Perron - regardless of salary, age, term, and last years production.
Secondly, this whole situation reminds me of when Cammalleri called out the habs team, coach, and management (himself included) then immediately was traded - mid game i might add haha.
Hard to believe its just coincidence that he's the one being dangled after that interview. |

Perron: playing style, tenacity, truculence, cap hit, physical play.
Eberle: excellent finisher, great hands, looks so graceful when skating, adorable gap-tooth smile - ChetManly

This is exactly what MacT is going through. And I'm the same. I'd like to see Jultz and Nikitin gone. But, I fear we are stuck with them. |

Anisimov is okay. He's kind of polarizing. He's got all the size and skill to be a really good palyer, but he's still never come into his own. He should be a top-6 player, but he's always been a tweener. Too good for 3rd line, but not consistent enough to be relied on. |

Eberle + for Berglund and Shattenkirk was a decent deal proposed. - Jeropotato
[click]
There is no way that Eberle is going to get you Shattenkirk and Berglund. I could just as easily have stopped at "There is no way that Eberle is going to get you Shattenkirk."
I would argue that Shattenkirk's value is approaching Eberle's at this point, and the Blues would need something back in the deal to fill Shattenkirk's void. The Blues are in no hurry to make any deal, and I would say that Shattenkirk is probably in the Top 5 of untouchables in the Blues system.
That said, I think a bigger deal like the Hall + Schultz for Pietrangelo + Berglund + prospect (Jaskin?) suggestion I made yesterday would be more palatable at this point. We've got two guys in Schwartz and Tarasenko that may be as good as (or better than) Eberle by year's end. We have no one on our roster that is as good as Hall. A good deal for the "buyer" has to fill a need without creating one.

I Think Holland could fill Kadri's role as second line center and Jvr Bozy Kessel and lupul holland perron would be a pretty solid top 6 |

Agreed (he is poopting the bed on my fantasy team). But, Kadri is a serviceable 2/3C for us. I see him as an upgrade to Arcobello.
But, again, i don't ever see that kind of trade happening. |

He's kind of a cocky a$$hat too. Not sure he would help the group get back on track. In fact I think kadri could be had for less than Perron. |
