How come you don't score more, Sean?

- Feanor

Well then thats Berubes fault. He is not getting the most out of his players. Please somebody dont respond with. "Look what he has to work with" There are teams out there with less talent, playing better than the Flyers. Thats ridiculous!

I think it's time to demote Read and try Raffl on the Couturier line with Simmonds. He has a lot more jump than Read this season.
- Feanor

Read looks completely lost.

Maybe. But he is also going against potentially the other teams weakest defensive forwards and defenders. Those players are strapped to Giroux.
- GOA88

I totally see it differently.

I'd be up for that.

Vinnyburger not providing any ES secondary scoring despite pillow-soft minutes (which is coming at the cost of Coots/Read) is (frank)ing KILLING this team.

Hopefully Laughton can take some of the burden off of Couturier's line. There's really no other option to shutdown the opposing team's top line aside from Couturier/Read unless they want to give harder minutes to Giroux/Voracek. The top line needs to produce offense though. Bellemare may be able to do it but not with Rinaldo and VDV/Akeson.

Once again I view it differently. he is getting the most D zone starts because of how good he is defensively. G is always going to get the most O zone starts. that is not a knock against Couturier

Hopefully we hear that most of this team was blown up for being so ridiculously and inexcusably... ineffective.

And that the Flyers are playing worse then teams with less talent, is all on the coach? It's his fault that Couturier and Read aren't producing at their normal levels? Or that Simmonds isn't? And his fault when defensive coverages are blown? When players fail to win a puck battle or fail to clear the puck on the PK? All Berube's fault?

Somebody has to take the blame. Why is it that only Giroux and Vorcaek show up just about every night and the rest of the team is sleep walking??

I think you have to add that Couturier gets so many defensive zone starts because the team as a whole is poor defensively. And other then Giroux, because of his faceoff ability, other lines can't really be trusted. And getting better at 5 on 5, so there are more O zone and neutral zone starts available would help also.

I would like to see:

Schenn - Giroux - Voracek
Raffl - Couturier - Simmonds
Read - Laughton - Vinny
Rinaldo - Bellemare - Umberger/Akeson

I could'nt care any less at this point. This team is not at all entertaining to watch. So flat and average on so many levels.

I think the solution is simple. We all just have to travel to the alternate dimension where Vinny's health and production are swapped with Joe Thornton's as of July, 2013.

Thats Berubes job. Unfortunately he has the burden of trying to get all these gutless players to put forth the required effort. How many times this season have Flyers been out worked?? Thats the frustrating part.

If only there was a black hole we could plunge into to reach that dimension..... (Interstellar) Great movie if none of you have seen it yet.

The team should take the blame as a group. Our top line and our goaltender have kept us in these games. It's time to snap out of this. The easy answer is to continue blaming Lecavalier and Umberger but a guy like Matt Read has showed nothing but potential since coming here, until now. Simmonds has to start playing smarter. I think Sean Couturier needs to start going to the dirty areas and get his hands a little more dirty. Deliver a hit, play with a chip on his shoulder. Use that big body to his advantage.

Or just do the sensible thing, as you were suggesting, and field a more balanced top-9 so a couple of guys aren't carrying the entire defensive load.

L1: Schenn/G/Jake
L2: Raffl/Coots/Simmer
L3: Rinaldo/Bellmare/Read
L4: Umby/Vinny

L3 can take some of the defensive burden off L2. L2 takes some of the offensive burden off L1. L4 is (frank)ing hopeless... nothing can be done about that.

Edit: forgot Laughts, lol... swap him in for 'Naldo.
