The next draft is going to be a very good one too. They aren't in a horrible position. They just shouldn't be subjecting their players to this type of embarrassment.

It is getting bad. I am amazed at the level of fight these guys keep showing. Hopefully this C/PF from Turkey can give solid minutes. They just have no depth up front and nobody that can shoot.

This team relies so heavily on their top line. It's going to be difficult to win on the road all season because they won't be able to dictate the match ups.

Yup, exactly.

They need some veterans too though. Guys who know how to defend a pick and roll or understand floor spacing on offense. They look like a high school team

What makes it sad is that if Akeson was -2 in five minutes of work, all we'd hear about is how his size and compete level and skating means he shouldn't be in the lineup, if all he can be is an offensive player

Sitting him out, I've heard, is the tough love young players need to get better. He needs to start showing more in practices AND games, I've heard

Well, a couple of these guys must be the World's Best Damn Practice Players, because they don't do poop in games

he does ... Dean Lombardi is retiring after this year, and Hexy will be the new GM out in LA.

He does. It's probably going to require more patience than I have, but I do believe he has one

none at all.

this is the kind of game where I surf the internets and every 5 minutes look up to see if the score has changed.

I'd rather just simulate these games than watch them. Finish the year with 78 pts and see where the ping pong ball lands

It's hard because they have big ticket guys that they need to remove, but can't do it. They have limited cap room to facilitate other deals.

Honestly, if I'm making deals now, getting picks is more important than adding NHLers.

This team has such a disconnect:
GM & HC were both physical fiery competitors, but this team plays with neither trait.
The HC was paid for being an enforcer, but he apparently doesn't believe in that style anymore.
This team is poorly coached, and the players don't seem to really care
Keep G, Jake, Simmonds, Raffl, Couts,& Laughton, everyone else can go
And keep mason

Can't believe you'd turn your nose up at a stud like Perron. Unbelievable talent. Lets just hope he brings that winning attitude with him

Just throwing this out there. I'm not one that thinks MaCdonald should be dealt, but any way they could deal him to Buffalo for one of their 3 second round picks? I'd ask the Sabres to take Umberger in the deal and the Flyers would take back Mez. At least it would get Umberger off the books early.

they'll probably play well this last 7 minutes and make a game of it.

counting the first 5 minutes, that's 12 minutes of good hockey tonight.

When they look like they did on Monday and then show tonight, again, that nobody but L1 can score a (frank)ing goal...it's so frustrating.

I'm not going off tonight. If they can't see that they have at least three ES passengers at forward every (frank)ing night at a minimum -- and that's being kind, calling them passengers -- and don't do anything about it, WTF can you do?

Still don't like that we pulled mase. I know it was a momentum/rest thing but he had no real shot on those goals. He's been our best player of late. Gotta keep him in there.
