This is a nice tribute, but it feels like they are getting us ready for when they put advertisements on the jersey.. Kinda hope this isn't a noticeable trend. The sticker on the helmet works fine.

It's coming, Bettman just said he wants to wait until one of the other leagues does it first...

So, as a fan of a divisional rival, I can evaluate the Leafs trades/UFA signings properly (as I'm not a blogger for the Leafs like Augello.)

Komagod = A+. If he stays on par for production over the rest of his term, he's well worth his small cap hit. He upsets me because he plays well and was a good signing by the gd'ed Leafs.

Santorelli = B. Solid pick up for the price. Nothing good, nothing bad.

Booth = C. Everyone warned you he'd be injured the entire time he isn't praising Jesus Christ or killing things.

Robidas = A-. He's late 30's and coming off of two broken legs. He's playing very well considering those two factors and is holding his own in his own zone and keeping pace to hold pressure in the offensive zone. He's doing his job despite his age/injuries.

Kontiola = LOL.

Panick = B-ish. Good pick up, didn't cost much and has a fun name for NHL.com puns.

Winnik= F. (frank) Winnik.

Robidas is actually garbage. He's old, damaged goods and signed for 3 years. And he's bad out there most nights.

Winnik is actually really good for his role and been a very good complimentary grinder.

Robidas should have been one of those 1-2 million one year contracts...

first time in the history of the league to have a patch.

I went down the Google hole looking for a pic of the King Clancy patch, and look what website I found:

Robidas is old and damaged, but I wouldn't call him bad. Okay, maybe he's not B grade materials compared to other d-men, but for his situation, he's doing what he needs to be doing. Is he first pairing? No. He's got a decent contract for a 3-6 d-man who can actually defend. His main issue is skating and speed.

And Winnik I think is replaced by 100 UFA's or 1000 AHLers.

I base my info on my hatred of the Leafs' team and Dozzer's feelings. Also, I have watched about 12-13 Leafs' games this year.

I guess 1000 AHLers can kill penalties like him. And he's a good bottom six grind type player.

Grinders are great. But the thing is, they come at league minimum for good grinders. Winnik isn't exactly a step up most third liners. He's signed to a good contract, though. I was honestly being trollish with Winnik, as the Leafs did a lot this offseason to get better while my team did absolute poop.

Remember when jbold said Kadri, Gardiner, and a 1st for Malkin would be "gross overpayment" because of his knees?

In the words of Howard... what a clueless (frank)ing twit.
