How does schenn make the oilers any better in the long run. They have a future second line center in drisalte and maybe a crack at mcdavid the whole thing is just bad.

I disagree I think Schenn has definitely shown some talent.

The oilers would be lucky To get a Kid like schenn even if it is for a guy that has a little better scoring touch.

They have enough young kids that have that scoring Touch. They need a good 2 way forward like schenn

Yes, Coburn would be the de facto top pair defender on Edmonton as well, and he just isn't a #1 guy. Maybe if you paired him with J Schultz you'd get better results, as he's not bad physically, but his offensive game left him around 2010.

IMO they do no need a center like mentioned before they will have one next year and getting one now wont turn there season around to be a playoff team that ship sailed in the summer so just tank and make moves this summer.

Well, if they acquired Schenn as their 2C, then when Draisaitl comes up, you're not immediately counting on a rookie to be a top-6 player. You work him in as maybe your 3rd line center, let him get some 2nd unit PP time, and climb the ladder. Then, if he's producing, you can bump him to 2C and either move Schenn to wing or 3C.
