I think they have 3 right now, not counting Hagg. However, if we'd done what this board wanted to do with every single waived player, we'd be at like 53.

Understood; you are right in that you can't have everyone, and as I said, if you think you can do better than Galiardi, you certainly don't need to burn a slot on him

But I do think he's better than Umberger, at this stage of their respective careers

Would you rather have RJ Umberger or Matt Frattin in the lineup? Please think about this without going straight for the "Umberger sucks" gun.

A myopic quadriplegic would be better than Umberger right now

Right, but you'd be adding Frattin's in addition to Umberger. People were clamoring for him when he hit the waiver wire as a "he's better than what we have, so let's get him!" type.

P.S. To answer you, it's $800,000 with one more year after this one.

But I hate Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck.
- jmatchett383

In addition to his head jerk last night, Clutterbuck screwed up Voracek's hand for weeks with an unpenalized slash last season.

No; from what I hear, Frattin's just not made it back from an injury he sustained, maybe to his knee

Believe it or not, I don't "hate" Umberger. Truthfully, I wish he could still play because the Flyers did move an asset for him.

We all knew there was some decline, but nothing like what we've seen.

I hear you. Honestly, I'd just bring up Rosehill and waive RJ. Rosehill is no worse a player at this point and at least he can beat someone up once in a while

I think we all feel the same way about him.

But as for waiver players, it just seems like this board constantly looks at the lush, green grass on the other side.

And when the coach refuses to sit them?

Umberger, cough cough, Umberger.....

- BiggE

I think Umberger will be on the 4th line as soon as Raffl is fit.

I agree, actually. Rosehill at least has some speed and can get in on the forecheck.

Isn't that sad? Like, REALLY sad?

At least he can bring energy to the team by pounding the crap out of someone!
He did bring this team back to life a few times last year by starting and winning a fight!
He did win the fastest skater competition in camp as well!

I know it feels like that, but if Rosehill was an every game player getting 12 ES minutes a night he would be a lot worse than Umberger's -7.

I would NOT, under any circumstances, bring up Stortini.

Well, maybe if someone took a deliberate run at Giroux or Voracek and their star player needed the same. But as a hockey player, I'll take Umberger.

If/when we have a healthy lineup, as you proposed, Rosehill could take his spot on the 4th line and get those coveted Rinaldo-type ES minutes.

If they don't do anything, this is probably the best they've got -- Read's gotta start scoring

Read could be in line for demotion to the 3rd line with Raffl taking his spot.

Play him 5-7 mins and spot others on the 4th line here and there. Either way Umberger needs to come out of the lineup

Umberger should not be getting 12 ES minutes. Bellemare should have his ice time. I will take Rosehill at 8 minutes and the edge he can bring to his game. I really don't see why Umberger is thought of as a great skating forward! Really.... The guy is a Zombie.. No energy level

The full circle that this board goes through is amazing. Rosehill is an enforcer, and can't play. Why is he on the team. Now bring him up!

If Berube is still the coach come Dec 9, I'd be pretty surprised. That is a brutal stretch. Changes are a coming boys.
