I think that the stats show that kadri should be getting more pp time with better players. He was 2nd on the team last year in pp pts and yet 5th (forwards) in pp mins/game.

The fact that some say that clarkson needs to be on the pp (1pp pts) and kadri has to be taken off because he struggling is asinine. The pp is a chance to give your best player a chance to play in the other teams zone, a chance to play with the man advantage. Play your best, most offensively gifted players on the pp. Play the players that have proven in the past they can succeed on the pp.

Yes the 2nd unit has underperformed. Kadri has underperformed the most no questions asked. Hes been given the chances to succeed and just hasn't.

Who have been his wingers on the 2nd PP? I can't think of it right now?

Clarkson and his 1 pp pts! He's clearly been better. Cannot remove him

On the pp? Why not. They produce more when together.

He's been good, I'm just fooling...he's not Malkin/Crosby good...1 of them plays 2c too, that's why I'm not sure why everybody gets their undies in a bunch over Bozak.

I think our forwards are fine..sure it would be nice to have a Getzlaf / Bergeron but....our D need upgrading to make us contenders IMO.

- Garnie

Going forward It should be Kadri/Holland and a Center who can handle tough minutes... whoever that might be

Well, he's not rolling, he's putting the puck in the net a bit, and more than last year, might be their thought, get him some pp points to keep him going...

I'm hoping all you Kadri lovers don't put the Gardiner jinx on him.

Stein was the main pusher of the rule, which was a gm in 92 but a 2 and 5 were added in 96... Just a little tidbit of info here, in 93 there were 15 50 goal scorers, 7 the next year never more than 3 since, quite a drop off in 1 year... Terrible rule that makes zero sense from anyone, stars were never more targeted than since it came in, oh and actual players verify this...

So the decline in scoring has nothing to do with goaltending equipment becoming twice as big with 1/10th the weight, the growth of size of actual goaltenders, or the influx of talent from Europe.

It's the instigator rule.

Got it.

He's got one pp pts, which is one more than struggling kadri who has to be removed from the pp after blowing his chance and being the worst on the pp no question.

I don't understand this comment. So I shouldn't want the best most offensively gifted players playing in the pp? Shouldn't want players that are playing well when given the chance to continue together?

Clarkson needs to be there for net presence...different styles.

( I'm not agreeing just the reasoning )

Sounds like a lot of things to have happen in 1 year... Goalies have affected the scoring put more over a longer period, same with coaching, Lemaire brought in the trap in 94, but it was years later that most teams began implementing it... The one single biggest change over those 12 months was guys could take advantage without paying the price, which today has become epidemic... If Moore on NY ran goalies "by accident" pre instigator like he does now he would have gotten his head kicked in, meaning he wouldn't be doing it in the first place, meaning there would be more guys saved from injury... It's a dumb rule that was brought in as a marketing tool, not a safety issue. What's incredible to me is that this info is placed right not the NHL web site and guys still believe the lie that the instigator was necessary when it wasn't...

I'm not sure the coaches are looking at the stat sheet going, "well one guy has one more goal than the other", I figure the second unit isn't finishing, he has had some history of putting the puck in, and on the PP, I'm giving the club the benefit of the doubt that it can't be just based on one little stat line...
