Mayhaps, but why move your captain and Ekblad's mentor/partner when he's becoming a franchise defender before their very eyes? - AdamFrench
Thats just it, they probly wouldn't, another bogus rumour, but having said that, Loops is younger... But in reality the Leafs and Cats had young d and both needed an older guy, they won the bidding war, Leafs got Robidas... |

Why trade for Mitchell when you're better off getting a Willie Mitchell who isn't past his prime in Brayden McNabb. - mykokes
I would do it because Mitchell is exactly what they need right now, and he's the guy I want smacking these kids around with his 2 cup rings - oh and he would easily be the best player the Leafs would have defensively... |

Did you even read what you wrote??? That line can't get out of their own zone, but don't break them up??
Kessel has 2pts in last 5 games, but don't break them up?
JVR has 3pts last 5, don't break them up. - burn

Pretty much. Robidas before two broken legs was a pretty darn good player, this one is a shadow of his former self. |

Last game I envisioned Kessel on the point on the PP. I've thought more about it, and wouldn't mind seeing it for a couple power plays.
Am I crazy...well besides that...could this work?
Sad part is, the lack of overall depth on the PP. |

Be nice to have Mitchell and Polak as shutdown guys when he is back. It makes sense for Florida to keep though for the reason you gave. |

And seeing that the Leafs are forced to play without loops anyway they might as well move him, but Florida probly doesn't go for it, although it is a half descent trade for them as well... |

Personally, I like having the 3 centres we have right now. 2 24 year olds pushing eachother in the 2/3 holes seems to be a recipe for winning.
And corsi and fenwick and evenstrength points can all go (frank) off when it comes to Bozak. Last I saw, he just scored the winning goal shorthanded. SO bite me. - mykokes
he is good on the PK
Not many people mention that part which is surprising
but..since he suck almost everywhere else...he is an overpaid PK'er |

Btw it's really nice to go back to my draft blog about why I would pick Ekblad number one and see the countless Oilers posters calling him a bust and somebody that wouldn't help them out. Or that Seth Jones was better because...reasons! |

Honestly, if Holland becomes a stud by the deadline, would have to at least think about it... |

Burn is right, ladies.
Sure, Kessel may be the third most consistent scorer over the past three seasons, but unless you are chugging blue Kool-aid, you can plainly see that he is now terrible (2 points in last 5 games).
Instead of trading him for nothing and having to retain salary, why not just have him killed?
Tragic death would mean cap relief, not to mention an awesome 30-minute pre-game ceremony. |

Thought about that, but he shoots from the top of the circle all the time. If given the chance, his mobility allows him to change angles or beat that forward at any given time to shoot or pass, and his chances of hitting the net are much greater than his peers. Any slip up by a defender could cost the opposition, and Kessel may find just a little more room and time back there. No reason he couldn't move down the wall with possession either...as long as another forward covers for him. |
