The occupiers meet tiny resistance from the lands they are stealing and kill thousands of civilians in response all the while they move foreigners into annexed lands... poor Israel.

Is anyone aware of how Quinn passed? I know he loved his Cigars......

Im pretty sad about this. Since the late 80's, he's been my favorite hockey personality off the ice. Having Linden around brings back some of that feeling I had when Quinn was such a dominate image of this Hockey team. Having honorable people running this organization has always been important to me.

Personally, while I'd prefer that we have honorable people running the organization, if it's between someone who's honorable but won't get us to the promised land to someone who's a complete (frank)ing Richard and bumhole and wins us a Cup or two, I know who I'd pick.

I'm not discounting his life or what he's done, he brought respectability back to the Canucks during a time we had none. All I said is that while I'd prefer honorable people to run the organization, if they aren't getting the job done (which is winning a championship, something NO GM/coach has done so far in over 40 years) then I'd rather have someone who isn't as well-liked as Pat Quinn but does. He's earned his place on the Ring of Honor and the HHOF, and I never said anything to the contrary.

“After every game we sit down as a management team and talk about his situation,” said Benning. “Did he get enough ice time in that game? Can we develop him with the ice time he’s getting?”

This is an encouraging comment from Benning and the coaching/management staff with the Canucks. Now if they could just get rid of a winger (Burrows) by the TDL and insert Jensen, providing he's "earned" it.

I work with a guy from South Florida who has gone to a lot of games. and the skinny he gave me, and probably some of the misgiving, is it is in Sunrise, about 45 minutes from Miami, which is largely elderly and retirement communities- not exactly a hockey hotbed, and no young people.
That, and of course, they are awful.

Can't understand why, with all their high draft picks, they've never been able to compete???Hard to figure...

By "earned", you mean being invisible when called up?

I don't think anyone on the farm has really earned a spot over a vet player yet. I'd like to see it, but you can't just hand them the spot in the top 6, taking it away from a guy that is having a decent year so far.

I mean score some goals in the American league and force them to say we need to give this kid a shot. It's November 25th, he's got three months to pump the net full of goals and earn a shot by the TDL.

The only time I remember him meeting expectations was when he scored maybe 5 goals in 3 games playing on Sedin line at the begenning of last year.

He's got 9 pts (6 - 3) in 14 games down there. But when he was here he was hardly noticeable.

I hope he can make the jump to the big league. Or he'll end up a perennial AHLer.

Interesting stat I read this morning

"The Canucks have a combined 15 goals in 68 games from Hansen, Dorsett, Vey, and Horvat this season. They got a combined 15 all of last year (in 201 games) from Sestito, Dalpe, Schroeder, and Weise."

I assume by games they mean man games played individually, I have doubts about it continuing but this team through the first quarter has been able to have 3 lines scoring at any one time. If they keep this up, they will be hard to handle.

I thought he played well in his third line role when he was here. He also looked good, to me, last year when they put him in offensive situations.

I don't see the point in rushing any of the kids in, so far the vets are playing really well and I can't see the point in moving one just so we can say we are playing more youth. It would be different if one of them were dominating the AHL, but none are.

The only way I see any of the kids get an extended look is if Benning trades a vet forward for a Dman or we have significant injuries.

I know this is brought up ad nauseum but watching Tatar/Nyquivst/Sheahan/Jurco playing so strong in the NHL after years of AHL seems to be really paying off for the RedWings.

This right here. I can see the game better at home than from 100000 miles away in the nosebleeds. Plus I don't have to pay $40 for a beer.
