I realized something this year. Derek Dorsett is an actual hockey player, not just an @sshole.

Such a solid trade for him. Love the guy.

He's been one of my favourite pick ups so far. He can dish the puck, and isn't afraid to get to the dirty areas. I finally know what they mean by "heart and soul guy" this guy does it all.

I see that Kassian has just displaced Hansen in the standard trade package lineup
- stevekariya

A bunch of posters on here were talking earlier this season that he needs to produce or be moved. You trade when he still has value.

He is not using his size or skill. He is basically wasting a spot.

ROR is getting paid just under the Sedins at 6m per for this season + next year. Kassian makes 1.75m and the others on your list are below <1m. Will be tough to fit under the cap, assuming they'd even be interested.

The other question is would you dismantle a 2nd line which is clicking right now and a C (Bonino) who's playing like a legit 2C? Unless you're thinking of playing ROR on Bonino's wing. That I'd like to see.

- AlexF

I guess I view it differently. I see Bonino clicking.

I will refer to a term from Steaming Lombo earlier this year , when I said Nino has a hat trick, he said cool now he has as many goals as Burrows. Well Higgins and Burrows now have two less goals combined than Nino. I think Ninos salary is about 1.5 or something.

I don't have a problem looking for a young 25 goal scorer for the second line

Banned for what? Having a good knowledge of world history and current events? Stop watching CNN and READ CHOMSKY.

Ronning would likley agree. He's a smart guy.

- Ronning4ever

You didn't make any argument. If you are as well read as you claim then you would know that discrediting your opponent - as you did when you called him a racist and said he should read a book - is not a valid form of argument.

From what I read its a high pressure market and beautiful, but the travel sucks. It's been managed pretty well over the past 10 years too. Say what you want about Gillis, but he sunk a lot of money into nutrition, sleep studies, etc. He was considered a league pioneer a few years ago...
- Ronning4ever

Gillis set the team back years development wise. He alienated the team from his peers, fan base and media, bad trades, contracts......other than that he rocks!

Trevor said today , young players usually get sent down because their body is not fit to play against men , or their game is not good away from the puck. He then said Bo does have a mans body and his game away from the puck is very good.

I take that as ,he is going nowhere.

Between what Benning and Linden have said, it sounds like they've made their minds up already and as long as he's getting over ten minutes a night, not too many nights off, and maybe some PK time it's hard to argue. Still, hopefully, ultimately it's Willie's decision.

I don't see the Canucks making any moves any time soon. They are 2nd in the Pacific, 2 points back with a game in hand.

But we gotta start the rebuild, dammit.

Linden did in fact say today they want to get him some PK time. He also told Bo not to think about 9 games , just go out and play

Let's move on from Israel and Palestine. I think we can all agree that if they were hockey nations, their teams would have a summit series, some fist fights and then they'd get along better. There is too much to criticize in the whole fiasco to blame any one side, so let's leave it for other websites.

Very sad news about Pat Quinn. My dad is 76, so 71 doesn't seem all that old. But he lived big and died early. He'll be missed.

Bo is that feel good rookie story you always want your team to have. We've been waiting for so long for a promising young player. Even when you are tops in the league, it's impossible not to want an underdog, feel good story. And the kid wrecked shop in face offs. Welcome to the NHL for good, Bo!

He traded for Bo. That cements his legacy.

I thought that I saw him on the PK a little last game, but it might have just been at the end of a penalty. The beauty of his game is that even if he is playing poorly, he doesn't cost the team defensively. If he stays, he's a pretty useful player to have centring the fourth line.

They haven't looked too fast or good this year. They look like an average team so far.

To be honest, I thought that was all we were going to be excited about this season.
